Calum lay awake on his bed, staring at his ceiling with his hands over his ears, trying desperately to muffle the sound of Michael snoring. He groaned in frustration, turning over to bury his face in his pillow, but it was no use. Michael's snores were still preventing him from falling asleep.

"Shut up!" He growled, chucking a pillow at Michael. He stopped, turned himself over and kept going, louder than before.

"I swear to god I'm going to kill you."

Threatening a sleeping Michael wasn't going to get him anywhere, so he climbed out of his bed and tiptoed to the door, accidentally stepping on Michael's foot on his way to the door.

"Ow." He hissed quietly, as Michael kicked him with his other foot. He shuffled out into the hallway and looked out of the window. Over the top of the houses across the street he could see the sky beginning to lighten.

"Fuck you Michael Clifford." Calum muttered, yawning slightly. If he was to sleep he would only get about three hours of it before he was woken up. Three hours was better than none so he padded downstairs to the living room and threw himself down on the sofa. His eyes immediately closed out of pure exhaustion and he was asleep in seconds.

"Calum." Joy whispered shaking her son's shoulder. "Cal, wake up."

"What time is it?" Calum mumbled, rolling over to face his mother.

"Half seven." She replied gently. "Why are you sleeping on the sofa?"

" 'cause it's comfy."

"So is your bed, why aren't you there?"

"Michael's snoring kept me up so I came downstairs to get away from it. I'm going to sleep here every night."

"You'll hurt your back honey. You are far too tall to sleep in the sofa every night."

"You suggested it last week." Calum said, pushing himself up into a sitting position.

"I know, but I didn't realise you tall you were in comparison until now. Anyway, it's time to get up, have breakfast and then get dressed and I'll make sure Michael does the opposite."

"Thanks mum." Calum mumbled and pushed himself off of the sofa, stretching his arms above his head. Sleepily, he poured himself a bowl of cereal and almost over-flowed the bowl with milk.

"Shit!" He exclaimed, putting the lid back into the milk. He looked down at his drowning cereal and groaned. It was all Michael's fault. If he hadn't being snoring, Calum would have got more sleep and if Calum had got more sleep, he wouldn't have ruined his breakfast because he wouldn't be so tired.

Calum ended up eating the cereal anyway, wincing every time he had to swallow a mouthful. He hated the texture of soggy cereal, it made him want to gag, but he was far too lazy to make another bowl.

"What's that face for?" Michael asked, sitting down across from Calum as he swallowed the last horrible mouthful. Calum didn't reply, his sleep deprived brain couldn't think of a sassy comeback.

"You look like shit by the way." Michael added as Calum left the room, "but I guess there's no change there."

"At least I still look better than you." Calum yawned. Michael probably didn't hear him as he was halfway up the stairs.
