Calum wandered into detention, dropped his bag under his desk and threw himself down in the chair. Mr Youngson rolled his eyes.
"I haven't seen you in here for a while Calum."
"I swear it's not for fighting Michael." Calum exclaimed quickly, holding his hands up in surrender.
"I never said it was." Mr Youngson responded. Ashton walked through the door, swinging his bag off his back as he did so. He threw it under the desk next to Calum's, and was about to sit down when Mr Youngson cleared his throat.
"I believe sitting next to Mr Hood is how you ended up in detention Mr Irwin, I suggest you move yourself to the other side of the classroom if you don't want to spending more of your evenings with me."
Ashton groaned and picked his bag up off the floor. He sat down in the very back corner, folding his arms across his chest.
"Is this far enough away?"
"Yes, thank you Ashton." Mr Youngson replied calmly in an almost bored tone. "You both know the drill, no talking until your detention is over and you have to write why you're in detention, etcetera etcetera."
Calum and Ashton sat in silence but neither really wrote anything on the sheets of paper in front of them. They'd been talking in class, what else was there to say? By the end of the two hours, Ashton had fallen asleep in his chair and had a small line of saliva trailing down his chin.
"Oi drool monster, it's time to leave." Calum shouted in Ashton's ear, making him jolt awake. He wiped the drool off his chin and made a disgusted face at Calum. Calum raised his eyebrow.
"Don't make that face at me, I'm not the one who dribbles down his face when he sleeps."
"Are you sure about that?" Ashton challenged, taking long strides to keep up with Calum's pace.
"Yes."
"We'll have to ask Michael, he's the only one who's been close enough to know."
"Shut up Ash." Calum said, shoving Ashton's shoulder. "You said you wouldn't mock me."
"I said I wouldn't laugh at you or tell anyone, I didn't say anything about not using against you in situations like these." Ashton grinned. "You better watch your step Calum."
"Who's going to believe that Michael and I slept in the same bed Ashton, seriously. We can barely sit in the same room as each other."
"Recently you've been getting on better."
"I still hate him." Calum argued. "So, at the end of this week, you still owe me $5."
"The week isn't over yet, and I'm not convinced you two hate each other. I mean he defended you when his friends were saying shit so basically compared to what you're usually like, you're married." Ashton retorted, adamant that Calum was paying him 5 dollars. Calum glared at him, his eyes narrowed so he looked like his eyes were closed.
"So he's a halfway decent person, what's your point?"
"You feel safe when he's in your bed." Ashton pointed out as they pushed the main door of the school open.
