Michael swaggered into class the next day, confident that Joy hadn't told Calum yet, judging by the smile on his face as he talked to Ashton. He sat down in his seat behind him, smirking.
"What's with the smug look Mikey?" Luke asked as soon as he sat down. Michael just smirked wider, rolling his eyes towards Calum's back. Luke furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, wondering what the hell Michael was up to now.
"Ohh Calum, are you looking forward to our detention tonight?" He said in a sickly high pitched voice.
"Hell yeah, 2 hours with you muttering bullshit, my favourite way to spend my week nights," Calum replied sarcastically, rolling his eyes. Michael's smirk grew larger than Luke thought was possible, almost stretching across his entire face.
"Why are you smiling like that?" Luke hissed, glaring at his best friend.
"My mum told me some of the best and worst news I've ever heard last night, and this one here doesn't know," Michael whispered back, his eyes sparkling with excitement. That was never a good sign.
"Why would he need to know?"
"God Lucas, you ask too many questions," Michael muttered, rolling his eyes. "It involves Calum, that's why he should know."
"Are you going to tell him?"
"Do you think I'm stupid, of course not. This way is so much more fun." Michael grinned. Luke shook his head and leaned back in his chair defeatedly. He was going to get himself beat up again, he just knew it and there was nothing he could do to prevent it.
"You know, it must be weird living in that house with just you and your mum after your sister moved out," Michael stated randomly to Calum, folding his arms over his chest. "It's a good thing that you'll have company next week."
"Company? Why would we have company next week? What the hell are you talking about Clifford?" Calum asked, turning around in his seat to face Michael. "No one is coming to stay next week."
"That you know of."
"What the fuck are you talking about Michael?"
"You don't have anyone coming to stay next week that you know of, but your mum might be keeping secrets." Michael smirked, tapping his nose cockily.
"If you're not going to tell me what on earth you're slavering about, shut the fuck up." Calum snarled through gritted teeth and turned back to the front, rolling his eyes. Michael smirked triumphantly.
"You mean to tell me that you don't know?" Michael said, faking surprise.
"Know what?" Calum growled, not bothering to turn around. His eyes were focused on the poster on the wall at the front of the class, which he read lazily to distract from his boredom.
"Joy hasn't told you?"
"Obviously not. Spit it out Michael."
"I prefer to swallow." Calum groaned in frustration, sinking lower in his seat.
"You are disgusting Michael Clifford."
"I try." Michael grinned, placing his hand on his heart. Luke rolled his eyes, trying to stifle a laugh. "But you can't going round insulting your guest like that next week."
"I don't have a guest next week."
"Oh but you do, and he is really looking forward to spending quality time with you."
