CHAPTER 20: MEETING PARKER
I was woken up by someone pouncing on me, causing the bed to sink down lower. I groaned inwardly and thought about how I was going to throw a pillow at Ryan for waking me up.
"Rise and shine little brother!"
I grabbed the blankets and raised them up to my eyes to stare at the person who was on top of me. Not recognizing who it was, I started screaming. The guy who was ontop of me jumped off the bed in an instant.
"You're not Ryan!" He was looking at me as if he had just committed a crime and gotten caught.
I sat up quickly in the bed. "Yeah neither are you!"
He started laughing. "Yeah, and I am thankful of that every single day of my life."
Ryan finally came rushing into the room. As he was rounding the corner to his room he was talking loud. "Whats wrong?! I hear-" He looked at the guy in the room then back at me then back to the guy. "Parker?"
Parker! Ryan's brother. Wow I'm so dumb, how obvious. He said little brother. I am so dumb. I screamed. Wow.
"Dude there's a girl in your bed." He chuckled and patted Ryan on the back.
"Really Parker I hadn't noticed." He replied sarcastically and then gasped at the end for an added effect.
"So then why were you in my room? Why aren't you in your own bed with her?"
Ryan put his hand on his forehead. "Dude it's not even like that."
I sat in the bed this whole time starting to feel awkward as their conversation turned onto me. I was staring at them still holding the blankets up but only to my chin this time.
"So she's not your girlfriend then?"
I stared at them wide eyed, waiting for Ryan's response.
"Dude I-"
"Is she?" He looked at me and back at Ryan raising his eyebrows.
"Not exactly but we-"
"You guys are dating."
"I-"
"Just ask her to be your girlfriend, man."
"Du-"
"Right now. I'll leave. Get it done." He gave me a thumbs up and all I could do was stare with my mouth open. Parker walked out of the room closing the door almost all the way. Ryan just stood there with his mouth slightly open also.
I reached over the bed and grabbed a sweater. I put it on but not all the way. I left my head inside the hoodie as I was putting it on, trying to hide. For some reason nervousness had taken over my entire body. The sweater was pulled down, revealing my face. I pushed my hair out of my face and just stared at Ryan, not knowing what to say.
"Beth, if I asked ..." He paused for a second, recollecting his thoughts. "If I asked. No, um I'm asking if-"
"Yeah." I smiled at him. "Yeah I will."
