CHAPTER 28 : ANOTHER SLEEPOVER... WAIT, WITH WHO?

"Morning Beth. Have fun last night?"

I looked at Parker with disgust on my face. "Have fun last night?" I mocked him in a mumble.

With a chuckle he put a plate of pancakes in front of me. "Here's breakfast. Eat up."

I stuck my tongue out at him and the moment I dug my fork into the chocolatey goodness, my phone rang. I took out my phone and looked at the caller ID. Diana. With my free hand I stuffed some pancake into my mouth while answering the phone with the other hand.

"Bethany Lorianne Diaz!" She said over the phone immediately.

"Diana, why are you using my full name?"

Ryan walked down that moment and stopped in his tracks. "Lori, I had forgotten about that." He smirked and walked over to me while I rolled my eyes.

"Diana!"

"Has Nicki called you?" She asked me quickly and a little out of breath.

To say she caught me by surprise was an understatement. I didn't react for a while, I just sat dumbfounded. Finally I responded. "No, she doesn't even have my number."

"Oh okay bye!"

"Wait! Wh-" Before I could finish she hung up on me.

I shrugged not really thinking much about it. "Hey babe?" I called out.

Parker peeked his head out of the doorway. "Yes sweetheart? You summoned me?"

While laughing, I rolled my eyes at him. "Not YOU. Your brother."

I turned my attention back to Ryan and kept eating. "So we going to school together?"

He came behind me and hugged me, then he carefully placed his lips on my neck and slowly started kissing me. He stopped suddenly to answer me. "I actually have to go somewhere this morning, but I'll see you there okay?"

"Is everything okay?" I asked him.

He nodded and kissed me once again before walking away to get dressed. Boys were the weirdest creatures on the planet. How anyone understood them was beyond me. I shrugged and let him have his privacy, focusing on finishing my plate of pancakes and getting to school on time.

This didn't take too long; before I knew it I was walking down the hallways of our school, hearing my name being yelled for the second time that day. I turned and saw none other than Nicki running toward me, her hair flapping against her back in the neatest manner as she ran. Unlike her, when I ran, my hair decided to make a mess of itself and create a monster.

I stopped to let her catch up, but she was hardly breathless when she did. Guess being a cheerleader had its perks. She smiled at me and I smiled back. All problems with us were now long gone. Ever since her apology she was a completely different person, but no one else saw this, which led me to believe that this good person was who she was all along.

"I was going to call you, but it turns out that I don't have your number." She told me.

"Whats up?" I inquired after.

"Well I'm having a sleepover at my house. It'll be just a few girls. I invited Diana, Tifanny and Maggie from cheer, Jamie from soccer, and Sandra from our English class. So what do you say?"

I pondered over this for a while. Another sleepover meant getting out of the house for another night, but I wasn't sure if my biological parents would go for it. Then again, Julia HAD let me sleepoever Ryan's house. But all those girls she mentioned I hadn't really gotten the chance to get to know, except for Diana of course, so I was a little skeptical. I had all these thoughts in seconds, and finally made up my mind.
