Originally I was going to make this a filler chapter, but since I haven't updated in so long, I'm just going to get to the point, so if you feel like things happened fast, this is why. I don't think a recap is needed but just in case, this is the gist of it. They break up, she ends up finding out why, he goes into surgery but before he does he asks her to be his girlfriend again, she says yes, he ends up in a coma, and here we are now.

I'm sorry and enjoy!

CHAPTER 37: RELIEF

*Shake shake shake shake*

The nervous movement of my legs was causing the seat I was sitting in to rattle. The noise in the hospital was like soft whispers to me. Even the beeps had been reduced to almost nothing. I just wanted to find out what had happened to Ryan.

"For the love of- can you PLEASE stop doing that with your legs?!" Parker said, his head almost about to explode.

"Yeah, sure."

I stopped moving my legs but stared ahead, and instead opted for wriggling my fingers. Ryan had responded last night. I didn't know to what or what that meant exactly. I couldn't even concentrate on what Parker had told me; I think that was the third time he had told me to stop doing that.

Parker wouldn't show how nervous he was. He loved his brother more than anything in the world, so obviously he was extremely affected by this, but Parker of course stayed stronger than ever.

Ms. Bray on the other hand, could not even be around us. All this nervous energy was getting to be too much for her and so she was around, something in the hopsital, probably near a doctor.

I tapped Parker's shoulder. No response. I tapped again. This time he turned too.

"Do you think he's awake?" I asked.

Parker's face showed sadness and hopefulness, mixed together, for a brief second, before covering up his emotions. "I hope so."

He returned to slouching in his seat and looking straight ahead. I did the only thing I could think of doing, and rubbed his back, trying to comfort him. Ryan had been in a coma for about a week now. They were pretty sure that he was going to stay in a coma for a while. They hadn't told us that, but the doctor made it pretty obvious that he thought that.

In this small town, everyone knew what was going on. I dreaded going to school everyday.

I started tapping my foot nervously, but Parker's look made me stop. The only thing I could think of to take my mind off of everything was to go on my phone. I whipped it out and started playing one of my favorite games. Thank goodness I was playing someone in a lower level than me.I waited nervously as the first round began. Although most of it was actually just because we had not heard from the doctor.

An occasion when you end up eating way too much food? I typed in Thanksgiving quickly. I knew it was going to have to be the holidays. Thankfully I was correct! I happily whispered "Yes!" Parker looked at me but said nothing. As the round finished, I was in the lead.

I waited for the next round, where the points would be doubled. Hm, type of repairman whom you suspect is out to cheat you. Immediately I tried to type in any repairmen that I could think of. I could not think of many, and as the round passed, I was losing. I muttered angrily under my breath, earning me another look from Parker.

It was the last round. Which occupation has the most masculine men. What kind of questions are these? The first ones that came to my mind were police officers and firefighters. I was correct, but after that I was stuck.

"Parker!" I whispered hurriedly.

He gave me another look.

"Which occupation has the most masculine men? Hurry."
