CHAPTER 3: CALM DOWN PLEASE
I was standing with my lunch try looking around the cafeteria. It was already lunch and I didn't have anyone to sit with. People didn't seem too friendly here.
I guess I should have been nicer to what was his face whom I hadn't had another class with as of then. Now I was paying the consequences and standing alone.
I was thinking about just skipping lunch or eating in the library, if they even allowed that here. I began to slowly turn around hoping that no one would notice me. Blend like a bush B.
"Hey Beth over here!"
I was wrong.
I scanned my eyes to find the source of the yell. I didn't have to do much scanning since it became apparent, with him waving his hands in the air, that it was Ryan. Was he inviting me to go sit with him? Well there's only one way to find out right?
I started walking toward Ryan when out of nowhere the cheerleader from before walked right up to him and slammed his arms down. She then proceeded to give him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. I wrinkled my face.
She started walking towards me which put me in a state of slight fear. She finally reached me.
"If you know what's good for you, you'll stay away from Ryan. Apart from the fact that you're not his type and that he doesn't want you, he's mine."
At least this time i could stick up for myself. Although I really had no control over the words that came out of my mouth next. "If YOU know what's good for you, you'll calm down. I'm not looking to steal anyone."
She opened her mouth to say something but I shut her up by turning on my heel and walking away. She could have him for all I cared. I wasn't interested in him or the drama. All I heard was a scoff as I walked away.
I left the cafeteria, and my previous actions started to unravel around me, I became aware that I was holding my lumch in an empty hallway with nowhere to sit.
I started walking towards my first period. I hoped that Mrs. Demassi wouldn't mind if ate lunch in her classroom.
**********
I cleared my throat. "Hi, Mrs. Demassi?"
"Yes sweetie?"
"Well, I was just wondering if I could eat my lunch in here for today please."
"Sure, no problem. I was the new girl in school once too, I know how it is. You are always welcome to come to my class. And if you ever need someone to talk to, my ears are open."
"Thank you, I really appreciate that." Like a bad habit that I couldn't break, I walked back to my regular seat.
My head was bent down as I started to eat my lunch when I heard a slam. I then heard a voice before my head even lifted to see the person.
"Mrs. Demassi what is she doing here? You said you needed to talk to me about my essay."
Oh how lovely of Nicki to join us. I looked down trying to pretend like I didn't hear her.
"Hello Nicki."
She glared at me.
"Ms. Shar, please take a seat and please, calm down. This classroom is big enough for the two of you."
Nicki Shar, being told to calm down twice within the last hour, must be getting to her right about now. But that girl really does need to take a breather. I sat down in my usual seat while Mrs. Demassi went to go talk to SHARkhead.
