Orion's Pov

I woke up with her not in my arms. Where'd she go? Where'd she go?

"Arie," I looked around the dark room. She was sitting in the corner. Why was she sitting in the corner?"what are you doing?"

"I'm imagining biting you," she whispered then bared her fangs at me. I stood up.

"Okay okay. I'll get you blood," I stood up slowly and grabbed my pants. I put them on and slowly walked down the stairs.

I went to the fridge and opened the draw with the blood. I grabbed a bag then turned around. I almost dropped it on the floor.

"Don't do that," she took the bag from my hand and practically swallowed it. She looked up at me when she was finished. She stared into my face before turning and walking up the stairs,"Arie."

"What?" She turned to look at me for a second. She had a trail of blood running down her throat.

"Don't walk away from. You could've gotten up and gotten it yourself," I met her halfway up the stairs. She walked the rest of the way and laid on the bed.

I looked at the clock. It was six in the morning. I couldn't sleep any more. She completely woke me up.

"I'm going to go get some work done," I took a shower then got dressed and walked to my office. West was sitting in one of my chairs when I walked in. He didn't even look at me,"what do you need?"

"I'm stepping down as beta. Make Will your beta. I'll be the extra," he said. I just stared at him.

"Why?" I sat at my chair and pulled out a paper and pen.

"I don't look up to you anymore. After what's happening with Arabella, after watching you break down and cry, I don't look up to you as the strongest alpha anymore. No one does," he put a magazine in front of me.

The picture on the front page was of me and Arie. I was sitting on the ground, covering my face. She was sitting beside me, trying to calm me down. The headline was asking about how I was trying to get her pregnant.

"First, I don't have to try, I can get her pregnant. Second, this has nothing to do with why you think I'm a softy. If you can't protect me, maybe you shouldn't be in my pack," I crossed my arms. He just kept staring at me,"you can go. I want to be alone."

He got up and left the room.

"Get Will," I called through the door.

I was sitting at my desk writing a letter when Arie, Will, and Holly came into the door. Will and Holly continued standing while Arie sat on my lap.

"The King is coming next week whether I like it or not. We have to be ready. I need this whole house cleaned. I need the pack to be in working order. I need Arie to be able to answer his questions. I need to be able to answer his questions," I said. Holly and Will just nodded,"Will, you're my beta. West is my extra now."

"Okay, starting, maybe you should start calling her Arabella instead of Arie. It sounds a little more professional," he said. I just looked at her,"you're going to be out of your mind next week. You're going to have to be able to control it. They're going to ask you about your relationship with her. They'll ask her if she respects you. They'll want to know everything about her life and where she came from."

"He's coming Thursday if that's anything. Towards the end of the week," Holly said. I nodded at her.

"Okay, you can go Holly," I said. She left the room. Will sat down in my chair.

"Why am I beta? You don't trust me," he whispered. I shrugged and looked at Arie.

"I trust you more than I trust West right now. West doesn't like Arabella. He thinks she weakens me. She doesn't," Will stared at Arie and nodded.
