Chapter 15: Tomorrow

Orion's Pov

I sat at my desk filling out some random paper. I couldn't concentrate on the paper. My wolf and I both knew Arie's heat was in a day. Tomorrow. The day after today. I already couldn't think straight because of it.

Someone knocked on my door.

"What?" I dropped my pen on the floor, jumping back to reality. West and Lily walked into the room with their daughter.

"I need to talk to you," West said.

"Obviously," I rolled my eyes. They both just frowned at me.

"You can't act like that when the King comes," West murmured first. I frowned at him then looked down at my work. It was just a bunch of scribbles and Arie's name all over it.

"What's wrong with him," Lily asked. West kept staring at me as I started to scribble more.

"His mates heat is in a day. He's already out of his mind," he explained. I growled at him and stared down at my hand as my nails grew. Why couldn't I control it?

"You never got like that when my heat came. You still screwed other women. Tell me, Rye, do you cheat on her?" She asked. I opened my mouth to answer but someone else did.

"I'd kick his ass if he did," Arie said. She came to me and sat on my lap. That helped a lot.

"Like I was saying, we needed to talk about Lily and I," West murmured. So he still loves her after all these years. What about his mate?

"What about your mate?" I asked. I squeezed Arie's butt making her tense and smile at me.

"I never had one. I lied," he shrugged. I wanted to break that shoulder so badly.

"So you're still in love with her and you want to stay in my pack after you have disrespected me and dropped from being beta," I wanted to stand up but Arie was sitting on my lap,"I trusted you. I really trusted you. I didn't pick you as my beta because I thought you could protect me more than anyone else. I picked you because I trusted what you said. When you called me a softy, I was going to kill you. I remembered what we both went though so I stopped it. My mate left me because you were screwing her. It's kinda funny to me really. You can protect her but you refuse to protect me. You disrespected me," I laughed. They both just watched me,"you of all people know people don't get away with that. I'm a nice person, I'm a softy I guess, I'll let you stay, but the second you screw up, I will end you."

West nodded at me and picked up his daughter, leaving. I stared at Lily as I kissed the side of Arie's head.

"Thank you for letting him stay. I'm happy for you. You have someone who you love. Our relationship didn't work. I'm sorry about that. I hope your relationship with her works," she nodded her head at me.

I frowned at her back then turned Arie around. I started kissing her. She turned her head, making me hit her cheek. I growled.

"I'm sorry Orion. I just keep thinking about your mates daughter. Your daughter. What happened to her. What if that happens to us? What if we lose our child and I leave you and I fall in love with someone else?" She whispered against my forehead. I went to kiss her again but she pulled away.

"I'm sure you won't fall in love with Will. I can protect you. I've learned from my mistakes," I kissed each side of her head as I was talking,"I love you."

I kissed each of her cheeks then her lips. She kissed me back this time. I frowned against her lips.

"Tell me no Arie. It's okay if you tell me no. You don't even have to tell me. Go buy condoms if that's what you want. I won't hate you for it," I kissed her head. She bit her lip.
