Orion's Pov
I followed her down the driveway. She walked on the side of the road. I only walked a few feet behind her.
"Do you ever wonder how we're mates from all of these millions and millions of people in the world? How did we meet?" She sat on the ground. I stared at her for a second before sitting on the floor beside her. I put my arm on her shoulder.
"You've been in New York for way too long," I murmured. She laughed and leaned her head on my chest.
"Am I really that different?" She frowned at the ground. I pushed her hair from her face.
"No, you're not different. I'm different. I'm not the same horny twenty four year old boy. I was a single father. I had a daughter and a son to care for. I'm sorry Arie," she stared at the ground. I dropped my arm from her shoulder.
I got off the ground.
"Don't come back to the house for me. Come back for Autumn," I walked back into the house. I sat on the barstool in the kitchen. Lily was holding her baby boy. She finally had a boy after her two girls.
I played with the ring on my finger.
"Orion, do you love me?" She asked. I looked up at her.
"Yeah, just in a different way," I murmured.
"I disappeared for years. Arie came back and still loves you. Don't give up on her. She's your mate. We can't tell you what to do. Love her differently," she smiled at me. I stared down at the floor.
"Thank you for actually being on her side instead of hating her," I said quietly. She nodded at me.
"Who hates her?"
"Holly doesn't like her because she left me. My brother and sister are just mad. Will is disappointed in me because I let Arie into my life so willingly. I wish everyone would just get off my fucking case! This is my life and my mate. I wish people would just leave me alone!" I walked up the stairs to my room.
I punched into the wall then laid down in the bed. My hand was bruised because of it but I didn't care. I laid in the bed and closed my eyes.
"Arie," I turned in the bed to stare at her. I was sitting beside a dead woman. She looked like Arie but she had eights and orange leafs,"Will!"
I got out the bed and ran to the baby room. I picked up August then ran into the hallway. Will was staring at the dead body.
"Find Autumn and Arie," I started ordering him to do things. He just stared at the bed.
"That is Arie," he said. I pulled August against my chest tighter.
"See if she has a tattoo," I murmured. I couldn't breathe.
Will turned the body over. There was no tattoo. Thank god. There wasn't a tattoo.
"Here's Autumn," West brought Autumn to me. I carried both of them out the room and downstairs.
"Where's Arie?" I ran my hand through my hair.
"The pack doctor just said he found her," Will said. I turned to look at him. What happened to her?"she was attacked. She was found on the street by a pack member. She's still unconscious."
"Take the body from the room and clean it. I'm going to the hospital," I picked up Autumn and August.
I put them in the car seats in the car then got in. I drove the ten minutes to the hospital. I should've stayed outside with her. This wouldn't have happened if I just forgave her. Why didn't I forgive her?
