Arabella's Pov

He was silent most of dinner. He ordered a steak. I got a steak too. His was medium well. Mine was rare. It showed just how different we were. He wouldn't say anything. He just kept staring at the plate like it was going to agh bite him. I wanted to say something to him but I didn't know what to say.

"I read the email Orion," I whispered. He dropped his fork to look at me.

"What email?" He asked first. I just stared at him.

"You know what email I'm talking about."

"You read it?" He ran a hand through his hair. I looked down at my plate.

"Why'd you lie to me about your mate?" I asked. He held the bridge of his noise.

"Arie, it's complicated. My mate had a daughter. We had a daughter. I went to visit another pack and I came back and she was laying in the floor crying. I... I knew why she was crying because I could feel it," he put his hand over his mouth. I frowned and looked at the table,"he poisoned her. He poisoned my child and my mate ran from me. I lost everything that day and then I gained everything that same day."

"What?" I frowned at him. He grabbed my hand across the table.

"I brought you home that day. I brought you and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. My life has been a living hell but at least I got you from it. You're not going to end up the same way because I love you way too much for that," he squeezed my hand then stood up. He put money on the table then grabbed my arm, leading me out.

"Why didn't you tell me that?" I got in the car. He started driving.

"Cause I didn't want to cry over her in front of you," he murmured. He just stared at me then turned to the street. We weren't driving to the pack house. Where were we going?

"I believe that you can protect me. I'm not worried about that," I whispered. He nodded and parked the car. I frowned,"why are we here?"

"You remember this place?"

I got out the car,"of course I remember this place."

This was where we met. The smokey bar where we had our first drinks together and he came home with me. He was playing hard to get and I just wanted him to come home with me. I got what I wanted that night.

"We sat, right here," he sat at the barstool. I sat down beside him. He waved the bartender over to me and ordered drinks. The same drinks he ordered for me when we were here five years ago. I can't believe he remembered after all these years. I didn't even remember.

"Drinks," the bartender put the drinks on the table. Orion played with his cup. I drunk mine. He was too busy in memory lane while I ordered another two drinks and drunk both of them. He just kept staring at his glass.

I helped Arie to the car. She kept tripping. She was drunk. How many drinks did she drink? I don't even remember buying more than two drinks. Did she take my card because she was sure wasted? I've never seen her drunk. She was very... uncoordinated while drunk. She couldn't hold her drinks.

"You're drunk," I murmured as I helped her walk up the stairs to the pack house. I put her on the bed and pulled her shoes off. I unzipped her dress and slid it down.

She stared at me before running to the bathroom. She threw up in the toilet. I held her hair away from her face as she threw up. I've never seen her so wasted before. Wow. She really couldn't hold her drinks. I stared at the door as someone knocked. I patted Arie's back then walked to the door.
