Chapter 6: Angels

Arabella's Pov

He was still leaning against the door two hours later. He was really not going to let me go anywhere. Wow. Thanks mate.

"Why is it you want children so badly that you'd deceive your mate?" I asked sitting in his chair. He sat on the ground against the door.

"I didn't deceive you... Why do you refuse children?" He asked instead of answering. I just stared at him. I could be the bigger person.

"Because I don't know if my children will be hybrids or not. I don't want them to be outcasts like I was. I don't want them to grow up in an orphanage like I did. I don't want them to be looked down upon. I'm not mother material. Orion, I cheated on you when we were together. I became your whore. I became your booty call. I'm not mother material. I'm a horrible influence to children. I don't want my children to say that I want to be like mommy. Mommy's just a whore. This world isn't meant for something so pure. This world tears apart dreams. I don't want someone I love so deeply to deal with a broken heart," I looked down at my hands as I was talking. I could feel that Orion was staring at me.

"My children won't be outcasts. I'll take care of them no matter what they are. I cheated on you too. That doesn't matter. I'm a man-whore. I'm the person that calls you for a booty call. I'm not father material at all. You called me a psychopath and a narcissus today. Sometimes I think it's true. To be honest, a lot of people call me that. I can't protect my children from this world but I can make sure they're ready for it," he closed his eyes as he was talking. It was like he was imagining it. His face was so calm when he had his eyes closed.

"You wouldn't shake my brothers hand because he was a vampire. If our child is a full vampire, will you distant yourself from them?" I whispered. His eyes snapped open.

"I will try my best not to."

"I don't want you to go behind my back again Orion. That hurt me. I trusted you. You hurt me. I thought you liked me," he stood up and walked to the couch.

"I've always liked you. I've liked you since I was a horny nineteen year old boy," he growled at me. I just stared into his eyes. He was telling the truth.

"You went behind my back."

"I'm sorry," he whispered looking down. He slowly grabbed my hand and tangled our fingers together.

"I'm not ready. I'm sorry but I'm just not ready. I'll go into my heat in two weeks. If I don't go on those pills, I'm going to leave for the whole week and come back when it's over," I said. He sighed.

"I will listen to your wishes though I don't like them. Let's make a deal, we'll use condoms. No pills. They'll make you sick. We'll use real condoms. You can buy them if you want," he squeezed my hand. I stared into his face before nodding.

"Thank you."

"If you change your mind by then-"

"I really doubt I will."

"If you change your mind by then, we can just not use them," he nodded at me. I nodded at him as someone knocked on the door.

"Alpha, your brother is here," Holly said through the door. Orion growled.

"You have a brother?" I let it slip out my mouth before I could think about what I was saying.

"Yeah, an identical twin brother. We both survived the attack. He is an Alpha across the state. I don't see him much," he shrugged,"he always wants something when he comes."

"Orion," his brother pushed open the door. I looked from Orion to his brother. Wow. They really were identical. I felt like I was staring at doubles.
