Orion's Pov. 7 months later.
I sat at my desk, staring at a blank piece of paper. I was just staring at it. I don't even know what I was supposed to be doing. My mind was so fuzzy.
"Orion," Will walked into the room. I stared at him. I swear there were two of him,"I'm not letting you do this to yourself."
"What?" I sat up.
"You're my best friend Orion. I'm not letting you do this," he took a pill bottle from the top of my desk. I growled at him.
"Give it to me," he shook his head no. I jumped over the desk and tried to take it from his hand.
"No Orion," he growled back. He pulled something out his pocket. A picture. It was a drawing,"you know what she asked Santa for Christmas this year, three months early? You know what she asked for?!"
He was yelling at me now. I took the picture from him. It was drawn by Autumn. It was of me and Arie and Autumn. A happy family.
"She asked for you. She wants to make you stay. She wants for you to love her and stay," he took the letter from his pocket. I took it from him and went to my desk.
Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas this year is to have my daddy. I want my daddy to stay here. I'll be a good girl so he'll stay.
"You're an asshole Orion," Will said. I didn't even look up at him when he said it.
"She thinks it's her fault that I don't stay," I ran my hands through my hair,"call Arie. Tell her to pack. Get me a flight."
"Yes Alpha," he bowed at me.
"Don't bow at me Will. I'm an asshole who's hooked on pain medications," I said. He nodded and left the room.
I leaned my head on my desk. She thought it was her fault. I opened my computer and called Arie. She was sitting in a hospital when I called her. Why was she in a hospital?
"She had a seizure we couldn't control," Arie turned to look at her on the bed,"are you okay Orion?"
"Show her to me," I said.
She put the computer on Autumns lap then sat on the bed with her.
"Baby, you did nothing wrong. This is my fault that I'm here and not with you. You're a good girl. You did nothing wrong. I love you and it won't ever change. I'm going to give you your Christmas wish a few months early. It's going to be your early birthday wish. You're going to come live with me," I murmured. Arie's eyes widened. She covered her mouth and she started crying. Autumn tried to calm her down.
"Let her cry baby. They're happy tears. I'm coming to take you home," she smiled at me. I closed the computer and turned to look at Lily by the door. She was frowning at me.
"You're bringing her back?" She asked. She put her arms over her pregnant stomach.
"Yes I am."
"Why? You said-"
"Why if you love me so much, do you leave all the time daddy? Do you know who said that?" I asked. She kept her mouth shut as I stood up,"my daughter asked me that seven months ago. She thinks it's her fault that I don't stay. It is not her fault. It's my fault. I'm too weak to protect her. That's going to end today. I'm going to go and bring her home. I'm going to do everything in my willpower to keep her and her mother safe or I'm going to die trying. I refuse to lose another one."
"Yes Orion. I get it," she said quietly. I sighed.
"Good."
"Are you going to let the drugs leave your system first?" She asked. I just stared at her,"before you make a decision I mean."
