Night 5 - Final Focus (part 2)

      You began stirring at the sound of a constant beep that sounded like it came from a heart monitor. Your eyes lightly fluttered open but you were in too much pain to even try to open them fully. I'm still alive? You thought. Finally, you gained enough strength to open your eyes and move your muscles. Why can't I move? You thought as you tried moving your arms and legs. Your vision cleared after blinking a few times and you turned your head to see where you were. Suddenly, you gasped! Sitting in a swivel chair was Nazo! He had one leg crossed over the other as he leaned back in the chair, facing away from you. His seat was in front of a desk which had a computer with some files and papers next to it.
     You held your breath in fright as you stared at him. You tried moving again but it was impossible. You looked down to see you were bounded by restraints as you laid on a metal table. As you tried moving, your clothes made a ruffling sound against the table, making Nazo's ears flick and perk upward. "Ah, so you're awake. What do you have to say for yourself?" He said, turning himself to face your direction. He glared at you as he still crossed his legs. You tried to speak but you were too stunned for words. Tears began forming in your eyes as many thoughts of what he would do to you raced through your mind.
     Suddenly, Nazo quickly got up from his seat and walked over to you with clenched fists.  "I'm sorry! I'm sorry I ran and disobeyed you! Just please don't hurt me, please!" You pleaded and cried as streams of tears ran down your face. Nazo placed one fist on the table next to you and leaned on it while he crossed his legs, resting the back of his other hand on his hip. "Begging will get you nowhere. At least you've learned your lesson about running from me. You fell right into my trap, helping me move on to the next phase of my plan. I suppose I shall thank you for that," he said, smirking.
     Your eyes opened wide after realizing what Nazo had said. "A trap? That was you who did that with the electrical box? And why were you trying to scare me to death these past nights!?" You questioned, angrily crying. Nazo closed his eyes and began explaining. "Hehe! Yes, that was me indeed. These past few night were all part of a test. I can't tell you everything, or else you'll try to ruin my future tests, but there is something I can tell you," he said, opening his eyes then walking to his desk.
    He picked up a small safe and placed it unto a small table next to the one you laid on. He unlocked it and looked at you with an evil grin. "With my collected data, and with the use of these, I'll be able to release and harness some of your power. Over time, especially after I steal the Master Emerald and continue with my tests, I will be able to have complete control over you and your power," he explained. He confidently flung open the safe door only to see it was empty!
     Nazo's eyes widened and his mouth hung open. He looked again but still saw nothing. He looked to you and clenched his teeth. "Did you take the seven Chaos Emeralds!?" He asked. Your eyes opened wide. Aubrie did take them! Yes! You thought as you tried to hide your smile. "No," you said confidently. "Then where'd they go!?" Nazo snapped, now slamming the safe door shut. You tried your best to shrug and looked away from him. In utter disappointment, Nazo put a hand to his head and stumbled as he tried turning back around to his desk.
     Nazo sighed. "No matter. I'll just have to recollect them and go after the Master Emerald again. Firstly, I must deal with you. I suppose I'll have to knock you out for a long while, while I'm gone. Which may take months, unfortunately," he said, picking up a needle he had already prepared. Seeing the needle, you squirm in your restraints. "Please, no!" You pleaded. Nazo walked over to you, and much like a doctor, wetted your arm. "There's no use in convincing me to stop. I've planned on knocking you out for a long time from the very start of my plan. You'll just be out longer since I need to go after the emeralds again," he said emotionlessly.
     You were about to speak when you suddenly felt the sharp needle breaking through your skin. You yelped in pain then began drifting off to sleep after the needle was removed. All you saw before blackening out was Nazo's frowning face as he held the needle next to him.
