Nazo X Reader -Acceptance is Everything-

Sonic's Going Solo

     "Chaos Spear!" Shadow called out, launching another attack on Eggman's robots. The hordes of robots kept building up in great numbers as the heroes tried their best to fight them all off. Thunder roared loudly as it heavily rained over the fight and lightning flashed brightly. The hedgehogs' quills lowered as the storm pelted them in rain.
     "They keep coming! What're we supposed to do? The rain is slowing us down," Silver said, looking at Shadow. "Keep attacking. That's all we can do now. You guys distract them, and I'll finish them off," Shadow answered. The heroes nodded and continued carrying out their defense. Shadow skated towards a wooded area, making his way behind the enemies.
     "Ammunition loaded. Ready to launch. Annihilation activated," a robot stated as it loaded its ammo. Aiming for Sonic, the robot aimed, readying to launch a sneak attack. "I DON'T THINK SO! Haaaaaaaaaa! Raaaaaah!" Knuckles exclaimed, launching his fist into the robot's metal abdomen. A golden explosion sparked through the sky after the robot erupted. "Sonic, stay focused! If you don't, your gonna get killed!" Knuckles snapped in concern.
     Suddenly, Sonic snapped out of his blank staring gaze. "Sorry, I was thinking of something," he answered. Everyone looked to him in concern when suddenly they heard a cry in the distance. "Shadow's been hit!" Tails exclaimed. Without another word, everyone raced over to Shadow. "Hyiah!" Knuckles shouted, punching the robot that attacked Shadow. "Shadow? Shadow! Are you there? Come in," A voice said over a transceiver. "It's Rouge," Tails noted.
     Sonic picked up the device from Shadow's hand. "Rouge, it's me Sonic. What's going on?" He asked. Meanwhile, Tails tended to Shadow's wounds. "We must...keep fighting," Shadow said through the pain. "No way! You're too injured to do anything right now. Just now you were taken down easily by Eggman's robots," Tails responded. Shadow became angry and struggled to sit up. Leaning on his arms as he lifted himself, Shadow looked Sharply at Tails. 
     "Rouge said she found something, and I want to know what it is! Now if we can defeat the last of the Doctor's robots, then we can meet with her," Shadow snapped. Tails looked down in uncertainty. He tried to think of a way to keep Shadow from getting hurt any further. He looked up at Knuckles, who was on a roll as he defeated robot after robot.
     "No! If you want to meet Rouge, I'll bring you to her in the X Tornado! Leave the fighting to the others," Tails said as he tried his best to lift Shadow. Shadow started to become angry until he realized just how much Tails cared about his well being. Letting Tails fly him over to the X Tornado, Shadow closed his eyes in order to relax from the fight.
     Before Tails could start the plane, Silver flew up to them. "Can I come, too?" He asked. Tails nodded and started the X Tornado. Silver flew next to the plane as Shadow and Tails sat inside the X Tornado. Shadow laid back in his seat with his eyes closed, resting from his injury.

(Sonic's POV)
    CRASH! CRUNCH! SMASH! Knuckles continued his powerful attacks on the robots which came at us in every direction. I tried my best to help fight them off, but I couldn't help but get distracted by the thoughts of what happened at Mystic Mansion, and what Nazo had said. Also, thoughts of Eggman raced through my head. Things were going to get tougher now that he was trying to stop us from finding Nazo and (y/n).
     "We did it, Sonic! All of Eggman's robots are destroyed," Knuckles said proudly. I smiled and gave a thumbs up. "Alright, let's get moving then. Let's try to find where Tails is and meet up with him when he lands," I said, then bolting off at my highly accelerated speed. Knuckles followed behind.

     Eventually we met up with Tails at a small house that sat near the beach. It was a nice little place Tails and I used to stay at when we were younger. Now, we use the little place as a vacation spot. "Hey, Tails. Is it serious?" I asked, looking from Tails to Shadow. "No, he should be fine, but he does need rest," Tails answered. I sighed in relief.
     "What about Eggman? We can't just let him get away," Knuckles asked as he crossed his arms, leaning his back against the wall. I began pondering, agreeing with Knuckles. "First we need to rest from our recent battle then we can go find him," Tails said with a serious face. I nodded.   
     Before anyone else said anything, Knuckles broke the silence. He placed his arms behind his head, placed a foot onto the wall, and looked at me. "Well, if we are going to be here for awhile, at least tell me you have something to eat around here?" Knuckles said, now standing up straight. Tails shook his head which caused Knuckles to sigh. Without another word, Knuckles left the house.
     "Sonic, I need to do some fine tuning on the X Tornado. The plane was acting weird on our way here. Could you watch Shadow for me?" Tails said. Immediately, I gave him a thumbs up in silence. After thanking me, Tails made his way outside. Silence once again filled the room as Silver, Shadow and I were left alone.
     Suddenly, Shadow's eyes blinked. He forced himself up on the couch and held his head. "What're we doing here? We need to meet with Rouge, now!" Shadow snapped. I looked to him as I placed the back of my hand on my hip. Before I could say anything, Silver lifted a finger. "Tails needed to do some fine tuning on his plane," he answered as he made an empty cup float into a 360 degree spin. I assumed he was bored.
     Shadow growled, impatiently, which was probably because of the delays keeping us from our mission. Suddenly Knuckles bursted into the room. "Look what I found! I'm going to wash these. Who wants some?" He said happily, holding up clusters of grapes. No one answered him but he continued his way to the kitchen. "I'm going to go out for awhile. I'll see if I can spot where Eggman is," Silver said, getting up from his seat.

(Shadow's POV)
     After Silver left, Sonic and I were the last ones in the living room. I knew that now was my chance. I got to my feet, which felt as heavy as lead. I walked sternly over to the blue hedgehog and looked at him seriously. "Alright, speak up! Tell me what's going on with you and Nazo?" I asked, impatiently. Sonic tapped his foot, probably in annoyance. "I told you, it's nothing," he said, crossing his arms.
     Sonic seemed annoyed but I pressed further. "What is there to hide? You said yourself that it wasn't a big deal, so why not just tell us?" I asked, getting angrier. Sonic looked down at his feet and growled to himself. He looked as if he was deep in thought. I waited, hoping for an answer. "I don't want to say because it wasn't a big deal. At least not to me. Also, if I were to tell you guys anything, I would be the one blamed for all the bad things Nazo has ever done," Sonic answered. My eyes opened wider in surprise and confusion.
     "What do you mean when you say you'd be the one blamed for all the bad things he's ever done? Just tell me what happened!" I demanded, stepping one foot forward, wanting to get to the bottom of things.

(Knuckle's POV)
     I was enjoying my time eating grapes until I heard crashing sounds. I swallowed a grape and got up from my seat. I made my way into the living room, only to then be startled by a Chaos Spear hitting into the wall next to me. I watched as I saw Sonic and Shadow brawling it out. They used spin dash and homing attack to hit into each other. They threw punches and kicks. Shadow threw Chaos Spears while Sonic dodged them. The living room was a complete mess and I nearly got pulled into their fight.
     "HEY WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL? WHY ARE YOU FIGHTING?" I exploded. The two hedgehogs stared at me while in mid attack on each other. "He's hiding something," Shadow said, "and if (y/n) gets hurt, it's his fault. He has knowledge as to why Nazo is doing what he's doing, and we have the right to know"! I blinked and see that Sonic clenched his fists as he looked down at his feet.  Just then, Tails appeared in the doorway. He looked confused as he entered.
     "We're never going to get (y/n) back if we keep this up. I'm going solo," Sonic said, then looking to Tails. He walked up to Tails and Sonic placed his hands on his shoulders. "Tails. Buddy. I'll be going solo from now on. You take care of these guys and I'll contact you if I find anything," Sonic said. Tails looked to Sonic in what seemed to be a sad and shocked expression. "But, but we always work as a team! What happened to the 'power of teamwork'?" Tails said, nearly sobbing. Sonic closed his eyes.
     "Not everyone here is acting like a good teammate. If we can't get along, something must be done. See ya," Sonic said, leaving the house. As Sonic left, Silver passed by him as he walked into the living room. "What's wrong with him?" He asked. We all stayed silent, leaving Silver clueless.
