Shadow Vs. Sonic - A Fight for the Emerald

It's been a little over a week since Shadow's mind had been imprisoned by Eggman. He searched far and wide for the team he once was apart of and was ready to fight. He ended up in a rain forest soon and had a feeling he'd find someone there. The device atop his head was actually scanning the area, leading him to an Emerald nearby. "I'm getting close," he muttered to himself. Suddenly his quills and the leaves from trees and bushes swayed violently as a gust of wind sped passed. The black and red hedgehog immediately followed in the direction from which the wind came.
As he hover skated faster, he noticed a blue blur zipped around the trees in front of him. "Sonic!" He shouted with a slight growl. Immediately, the speedy hedgehog in front of him screeched to a halt. "Huh? Shadow?" He said. Sonic looked back at Shadow and wondered why he wasn't with the group. "Hmph. I found you... Hand over the Chaos Emerald, now!" Shadow commanded as he held out his hand. After taking a quick step back, Sonic started looking confused. "Why? It's not like I'm going to lose it," he said slowly with a small chuckle as his eyes started trailing up toward the mind control device. Before he could get a good look at it, Shadow suddenly jumped forward, throwing a Chaos Spear.

(Sonic's POV)
When I saw Shadow launch a Chaos Spear at me, I quickly jumped and landed back on my feet. Something was definitely wrong with Shadow and I was more than sure it had something to do with that weird device he was wearing on top of his head. "Then I'll have to fight you for it!" Shadow said. I clenched my teeth. There was no way I was going to let him have the Chaos Emerald! As he headed straight for me, I quickly jumped and my feet hit the trunk of a tree. With great force, I pushed myself from the trunk and aimed at Shadow. I curled into a ball and launched a homing attack right into his back. After landing on my feet, I saw him get up again.
Shadow growled before disappearing into thin air. 'Oh great! He's going to use Chaos Control!' I thought. I scanned my surroundings, waiting for Faker to show up. My ear flicked as I heard the sound of him teleporting somewhere behind me. Quickly, I swung my body around and roundhouse kicked him but I was then unfortunately sent to the ground after he punched me at that same exact moment! "Ugh... You sure know how to put up a fight, Shadow... but you're not getting this Emerald!" I said with a slight smirk, slightly rubbing my jaw where he hit me. He sat up and started getting back up on his feet, so I did the same. As I focused my gaze on Shadow, I tried thinking of what that thing was on his head. 'Is it a mind controlling device? Shadow would never wear something like that on his head....so it must be. Why else would he be fighting me?' I thought.
"Why do you even want the emerald, Shadow?" I asked while my gaze was still locked on him. My feet drifted apart as I got in position to either run or fight. "To bring it back to my master! Now hand it over!" He hissed as he once again lunged at me. Quickly I side stepped and dodged a punch. Like me he was quick! Each jab, just inches in front of my face, missed as I dodged while running full speed backwards. Finally, I had a chance so I swung my foot up high, hitting his neck and sending him flying. After landing back onto my feet I bolted toward him. As I ran, rain pelted my face, unfortunately making it hard to see.
I approached Shadow, ready to take that weird headband off of him. If only I didn't leave the group...this wouldn't have happened! I didn't know which foe he was possibly working for. Eggman...or Nazo? Suddenly, Shadow quickly opened his eyes and thrusted a foot up at me, catching me off guard as his foot made contact with my chin and lower jaw. I flung back and hit the ground hard. "Boy....that hurt!" I said in pain. I couldn't give up though so I forced myself back up. "Is that all you got?" I said with a challenging smirk as I held my arm since I had crushed it as I fell. My chest heaved a bit as I watched Shadow appear in front of me. Now it was my turn! I sent a punch straight for him but he blocked it with his arm. He suddenly grabbed my arm, locking it with his, flipping me over with a one arm shoulder throw.
     I grunted from the pain and realized I have forgotten just how strong he was compared to me. Before I could do anything, Shadow ripped the Emerald from my hand and stepped back. "Chaos Control!" He said right before vanishing "Nooo!" I exclaimed as I jumped to my feet. It was too late. Shadow was gone with the Emerald and was going to give it to someone who doesn't deserve it! Out of stressful rage, I punched the trunk of a tall tree next to me. My chest heaved as I mentally scolded myself. Slowly, I removed my fist and let my shoulders slump a bit as my palms rested on my bent knees. thoughts raced through my mind. So fast that even my thoughts could beat me at running! I couldn't give up though! With that in mind...I continued on my journey, running through the forest quickly. So...it looks like my adventure continues. Besides...I could still fix this because after all....the climax hasn't happened just yet!
