Eggman's Eggcellent Trap

     Six days have passed since Shadow left the group. He was more than determined to get the answers he needed. Thankfully he had found a way to track down Eggman by hacking into a satellite network, receiving the data on his location. "There it is!" Shadow said lowly to himself as he stared up at the sky. Eggman's Flying Fortress was just up ahead and with Shadow's speed, he would be able to catch up in no time. Once he was right under it, he used the jets in the soles of his shoes to fly up to the fortress.
     Shadow pulled out a fake Emerald in which Tails had given him since the beginning of their search. "Chaos Control!" He said then vanished, reappearing inside the fortress. As silent as a mouse, he maneuvered through the halls.  Every camera that tried following his movements were severed by a Chaos Spear. "Halt! Trespassers must be eliminated!" A robot said, turning to face him as he passed by. A fleet of robots surrounded Shadow, rapidly firing at him. "Hmph!" Shadow dodged the lasers and fought back, flinging Chaos Spears and destroying nearly all robots. "I don't have time for this!" He growled and sent a much larger spear to finish them off. Now that that was done, he continued on his way.
Beep! Beep! Beep! "Orbot, check that alarm!" Eggman commanded. The sphere-headed robot nodded. "Yes sir," he said. While checking the alarm, he turned slowly to look at Eggman. "Uh, sir....Shadow is on board the fortress!" He said, sounding as worried as a robot could possibly sound. Eggman grinned and rubbed his hands together. "Send out more robots! That's all we can really do unless we use the lasers form the cameras!" He said, almost as if he were amused. Orbot nodded and typed away on the keypad. "The cameras are not operational!" He exclaimed. Eggman still didn't seem upset. In fact he seemed to enjoy knowing Shadow was on his Fortress, heading straight for him.
     Suddenly a wall bursted inward, creating a large hole. "Hello doctor. I have a few questions for you and I need your diagnosis. Don't worry, I'll make my visit quick!" Shadow said, walking in with a slight smirk on his face. "Oh? What do you want with me, Shadow?" Eggman said, staying seated in his chair, hiding the smile beneath his thick mustache. "I'd like to know where Nazo is and how I can destroy him! I was told that you were the one responsible for bringing him back!" Shadow replied seriously. The doctor rubbed his chin in thought, buying him some time to think. "I'm wondering the same thing, Shadow," he said. Eggman stood up and paced a bit with his arms crossed behind his back as Shadow kept his eyes glued on him. "Perhaps we can find out together by working together," he chuckled. He secretly picked up a headband like device and gripped it tight. "What do you say, Shadow?" Suddenly Eggman threw the device and it perfectly latched onto Shadow's head. "What?!" Shadow exclaimed. He reach for the headband but a wave of energy surged through him. His arms lowered as he stared straight, dead in the eyes much like a zombie. After blinking a few times, he kneeled on one knee and bowed a bit.
     "It would be a pleasure to serve you Master! What is your request?" He said. The henchmen gasped! Both of them were utterly confused! "What's up with him?" Cubot asked as he scratched at his square shaped head. Eggman chuckled and made his way over to Shadow. "This reminds me of when we first met, Shadow!" He said. He gently gripped the one end of his mustache and stroked it a bit as he thought while smoothing it out. "I want you to track down Sonic and his friends, and I want you to take their Chaos Emeralds! Also, find Nazo and destroy him, or at least bring the girl back to me!" He ordered. Shadow stood up and nodded once. "I will not fail you, master!" He said. The black and red hedgehog turned around and made his leave, following Eggman's orders immediately. "Perfect! Ha! Ha! Ha!" Eggman laughed triumphantly. "I still don't get it," Cubot stated. His robot friend faced him and hummed in thought. "I think Dr. Eggman put Shadow under mind control. That means if he succeeds with his plan and rules the world, we won't be needed anymore!" Orbot said, looking down disappointingly. "Oh no! That means it'll be the scrapyard for us!" Cubot exclaimed. The two looked up at the evil scientist with nervous looks as they watched Eggman cackle evilly in victory of a wonderful trap he had set for Shadow!
