Tears streaming down her cheeks
As she sits on the shore watching the waves wash her transient feet
Pain cutting through and out
Shards of guilt leave her skin exposed
Head hung down in shame
For she feared that she hadn't done enough.
And she only dreamt.
And that is all she did.
A fake world she lives in
She likes to believe so
But eyeing her beloved ones chasing the dream
And living it
She couldn't help but shed a tear or two.
Deep within she knew that their road that she sees
Weren't all roses and daisies
But seeing the chunk of happiness
She couldn't help but believe
That she
Merely was a failure.
The one who only dreamt.
And that is all she did.

Kiss my scars
She could've asked the brightened day lights
But it wouldn't
for she chose to
let the darkness implore her skin.
Yet didn't know.
For she thought gloominess chose her
And happiness left her amidst the cross roads
She didn't live the moment
She merely thought that she'd live one day
In the distant future.
My life, she said to the waves
'Is like you.
Fierce and determined, it seems so
And when I drench others in happiness
I leave
For I wasn't ever meant to stay
I wash and leave
But no one would let me stay
For my passion had always been mistaken
For my obsession to let one down.
Oh how mistaken they were,
A heart sees another
The way one's own heart is.
And when you harbour hatred and jealousy within you
How can you see the purity of love I hold within for you? '
The wave washed her feet once again,
And happily let her be.
Turning around she saw a child barefoot
Tugging his mother's legs
Craving for a candy that he couldn't grab
Far away seated are a young boy and a girl
Madly in love
Or so it may seem
Holding the phone
They capture the blissful moment,
I smile.
An hour later I hear an outburst
They say they'll never get together again
Husband and wife they were...
A marriage falling apart so soon
Or merely an argument that could be healed with a sincere apology and a goodnight kiss.
Think the latter said it within
And I prayed that they heal.
The outburst wasn't for the world to see
To the world they were madly in love
And perfectly alright
To the world the boy tugging his mother's legs
Was the one to be despaired about.
But he was happier than the sunlight
He was barefoot perhaps
But not heartless like some
For he didn't feel the void
The need to love as per the bars set
He lived his world.
His candy
His mother's essence
His sands that embrace
His waves that make him happy
He didn't crave to live what others did.
He dreamt and did.
And that is what she didn't do.

Now as she rose and walked sinking her feet
Into the sands
She dreamt of a day when she would be carefree like the little boy.
When she wouldn't care if she was barefoot
But would only care if she was soulful.
Perhaps she would stop scrolling through her feed
To find puppy dog faces
And happiness painted darkly
Perhaps she would stop worrying
Thinking of others chasing their dream
While she wasn't.
Because all this while she saw them chasing their dreams
And she merely was trying to fit in.
But now she would chase her dreams
The dream to be carefree and soulful
The dream to feel secure in her own skin.
The dream to let the world truly see her
Her passions unveiled
Without fearing of being exposed.
Most of all she was determined to
Dream and
Do.
Like the little boy
She would embrace herself and chase her dreams
And not anyone else's.
Wipe those tears
Oh girl!
Those eyes for passion and magic.

Do.
