Starting over

Chapter 25

I dream of being back in my bedroom and sleeping in my soft, warm bed. But when I wake up, it is cold, damp and hard. Harry is still sleeping and I get up slowly so I don't wake him up.

I sit down at the mouth of the cave and try to relax. Someone sits down next to me and I see that it is Niall. "What are we going to do?" He asks me.

I look at me sadly and shrug. "I wish I knew Niall."

He looks down at his feet. "We have to be missing something. We didn't go far from the path. The path should be right here." He says pointing in front of the cave.

I shake my head. "It probably doesn't seem that long but it is. We shouldn't go out though because we can't get lost. I always learned that if you get lost, stay put because it makes you easier to be found." He nods and sinks down.

"We were supposed to leave today. Then tomorrow we would be leaving to tour. When will they find us? Our fans must be so worried. What if we miss a show? They would be devastated!" He starts to panic and I grab hold of his hand.

"Relax Niall. Everything will be fine. They will find us don't worry." I feel him relax and he takes a deep breathe.

"Thank you. I needed that." He says and I smile kindly. "What are we going to eat?"

"That's a good question. We still have berries left from last night. Tess and I could go pick some more if we need to. But I'm sorry to say I don't think we will be eating very much. We need to make sure we have enough food to last a while. Just in case they don't come for a while."

"You are so smart." He says helping me up. I walk into the cave and look to find that we have a couple handfuls left of berries.

"Thanks. I have watched a lot of survival shows." I say and he laughs.

"Tess it still sleeping, do you want me to help you pick berries?" He asks and I nod. We head out to the bushes Tess and I found before.

"Ouch. It's scratched me!" Niall says and I giggle. He puts his finger in his mouth and pouts.

"Your not supposed to touch the thorns!" I say and he sticks his tongue out.

"Very funny. If you were dating Harry...." He trails off.

"What?" I ask him and but he doesn't meet my gaze.

"Nothing." He says nervously. "I didn't say anything." I shake my head and keep picking the berries. Finally we walk back to the cave with more berries than we picked last night.

"Where have you been?" Harry says as soon as we walk in.

"Picking berries." I say piling up the new berries next to the ones from yesterday.

"Alone. With Niall?" He yells a little louder. Niall looks hurt.

"Yeah. It's not like we would do anything. Don't you trust us?!" I ask him and he just stares at me.

"C'mon Harry. Stop it. You are making her upset." Niall says touching his shoulder.

"Get your hand off me Niall." He says pulling away from him. He walks out of the cave and I sink down to the ground. Niall tries to comfort me but I don't respond.

Zayn touches his shoulder and Niall gets up and leaves. Then zayn takes his place. "Becca, he doesn't mean that he doesn't trust you. He is just overprotective and gets jealous sometimes."

"I would never do something like that to him. I'm not like that. He knows that right?" I grasp zayns arm and I look at him frantic.

"Yes. We all know that. He trusts you. Don't worry. He will get over it." He says and I relax. I lean against the wall and take a deep breathe.

Harry walks in and he looks upset. He sits down next to me and zayn gets up and leaves. He looks back at me and nods. I look at Harry and see that his eyes are tearing up.

"Becca, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. And I trust you. I trust you a lot. I just... Sometimes...." He stops and takes a deep breathe.

"Harry." I say and he looks up, tears about to spill over. "It's ok. I forgive you."

"Thank you. And I am so sorry. I just get crazy sometimes. And I just want you to be safe. I am on edge more now than ever because I mean we are stranded in the woods." He says plainly. I guess we are stranded. We can't go anywhere. We can't talk to anyone else.

"We have to find a way to get out of here. I don't want this to be like the hunger games." I say and he smiles.

"I love that movie. Do you want to be katniss and I can be Peeta?" He asks and I smile.

"Sure why not." I laugh.

"So I am dying from the wound in my leg, and I think you have to kiss me." He lays down and I roll my eyes. I lean over and kiss him on the lips. He grabs hold of my face and pulls me closer. I pull away and he smirks at me. I blush and get up.

"Are you going to go get my medicine katniss?" He asks me.

"No. I am going to try to find a way out of here." I say walking away.

I hear him say. "That's my girl." I smile and walk out of the cave.

How would we get out? Maybe there is some place where we could get signal for our cell phones? Or smoke signals? I do have matches in my backpack. That might be the first thing we should try.

I walk back into the cave. "Guys I have an idea." I say and they all gather around me. "What if we start a fire?"

They all stare at me. "And...." Tess asks.

"Which will give off smoke. So then they could find us." I say and they all nod their heads.

"That makes sense." Josh says.

"Of course it does! Now let's all gather wood. Let's make it big." I say and we all go around the cave finding wood. We put it all in a big pile.

"Before we do this, and possibly burn down the whole forest, we should try our phones again." Liam says and we pull out our phones.

"I have one bar!" Louis says excited.

"Call the police before you lose it!" Harry says and louis dials the number. It rings and someone finally answers.

"Hello. This is louis Tomlinson from one direction." He pauses. "Well that's nice. But we are stranded in the woods." He pauses again. "I think saving our lives is more important than getting an autograph for your daughter." He snaps. "Come save us!" He yells and we don't know whether to laugh or be upset that the operator isn't listening. "Thank you. We are in a cave. Please hurry." He says and finally hangs up the phone.

"So they are coming?" Tess asks.

"They should be. But that lady was really annoying. All she wanted was an autograph. Gosh. People these days." He says and I laugh.

"I am just glad we are going to get out of here." I say as I smile wide.

"When did they say they would come and look for us?" Liam asks louis.

"As soon as possible." He says sitting down. It gets dark all of a sudden and we all look out to see the sky get dark. Big, dark black clouds hide the sun and it starts to pour.

"Not again!" Niall says and we all run into the cave. I sit by the edge and watch the rain fall down. Harry sits next to me and holds my hand.

"That was a good idea with the fire." Harry says smiling kindly at me.

"Thanks. Even though we didn't need it." I say looking out and I see a flash of lightning. I jump but Harry holds me close.

"But it's always good to have a back up plan." He says and I nod. We sit there and wait for the police to arrive. If they ever will.
