Zapdos's tear fell on the part of his wing that was over my chest. I felt an overwhelming feeling of euphoria as my pain was instantly lifted and I was better than new. Zapdos retracted his wing and I sprung to my feet. Owain and Pit were completely dumbfounded by what they had seen and they hugged me in relief that I was alive and well.
"Of course! The tears of a legendary bird can heal any injuries! Why did we not think of this before?" Pit extatically blurted out. Zapdos even seemed to cheer up.
"I feel more alive now than I ever have! We need to go on and find the next Pokemon, where do you think we can find Articuno? Owain, have you any idea?" I said, almost matching Pit's excitement.
"I believe Articuno made her way to the Frost Cavern in Kalos's northeast region, she should still be there unless something were to drive her out. But of course this IS Articuno we're talking about, and she wouldn't be easily spooked." Owain said, clearly happy but trying not to show it too much.
"How are we going to get there? My wings could only really sustain my own weight for that long, I don't think I could carry you guys. How are we going to-" Pit said. Zapdos threw a gust of wind into our faces and then stood with a look of understanding to me and Owain.
"That's how!" I replied. I climbed on with Owain behind me.
"It's just dawned on me that my uncle would have been the last person to fly with Zapdos... Treat him just as Uncle Chrom would."
"Duly noted, Owain. I shall"We took off and I was once again made dizzy by the sensation of flight. We were to stop off in Lumoise City before going to the Frost Cavern, cutting our journey up a bit and giving us opportunity to restock on supplies.
Seeing the world from a flying perspective was wondrous, like nothing I'd ever seen before. Zapdos flew just above the clouds so that we could see the ground but we remained invisible to others. Formations of geese passed us by in arrows beneath us, entirely unaware we were present. The sea glistened a deep royal blue colour, rippling with waves and I spotted whales surfacing for air on several occasions. The coast of Kalos emerged on the horizon and before long it was upon us.
