Reversed

CHAPTER TWENTY THREE

Soon after, the doors behind us also burst open due to a guard being thrown through them.
"It looks like we're being boiled in the lobster pot guys, fighting our way out is the only way to escape!" Wario observed. The men surrounding us as well as those holding down Owain rapidly dispersed to fight with their own ranks, leaving us alone in the throne room with pokemon pouring in from both ends.

We spread out into a circle so that we all covered each others' backs from our attackers. We donned our weapons, and began at work fending off these hoardes of pokemon. A pair of Arcainines moved in slowly towards us and tried to draw us out by prowling and gnashing their teeth. The first came at me, slicing at my torso while the other pounced to where Wario stood. I watched from the corner of my eye while fighting off the one that had attacked me as Pit and Samus shot any new threats entering the hall with stunning accuracy while Owain began chanting dark magic to protect an otherwise defenceless Wario. The Arcainine stood between Owain and Wario, clawing continuously at a translucent red shield of magic that Owain had conjured before him. The houndish beast opened its jaws and fire spewed from inside them, but were as shadows to the spectral power that kept them from Wario. Owain produced his sword from inside his robes and swung it in an 'X' in the air. As he did so, black traces of the same pattern plunged through the Arcainine, killing the pokemon there and then. I waited for the right moment to land a fatal blow on my attacker, parrying claws and diving flame jets. The yelp from its counterpart dying was enough to distract it and cause it to turn its head. I landed a heavy strike on the back of the Arcainine's neck, decapitating it.
"We can't hold much longer! We're going to have to make a quick escape!" Pit shouted as he frantically shot more arrows.
"that's one more down. Let's go now! Time to fly." Wario added.
Zapdos and Articuno (who had been removed by the guards in the bustle of organising the execution) soared in through the front doors over a Nidoking that Pit then shot in the head. Owain and Wario climbed aboard Articuno as I mounted Zapdos.
"Samus! Shop shooting and I'll come and get you!" Pit yelled as he put away his bow and immediately ran in Samus's direction. A few seconds later, an Arcainine charged through the doors that Pit had left unattended.
