Zapdos shrieked and a wicked lighting bolt fell on the Arcainine, taking it down in one fell swoop. However, in doing so a pillar had been knocked out and an enormous crack in the ceiling appeared. Pit continued to sprint, wings spread, at Samus. She put away her laser pistol as Pit was nearing her. A Dragonite came through the hole Samus had been shooting at and flew at her extremely quickly. Pit grabbed her by the waist and hoisted Samus into the air, just dodging the Dragonite's charge. The crack in the roof opened up in a crash to form a large, gaping hole. Zapdos, Articuno, Pit, and the Dragonite all flew up to it. The claws of the Dragonite swiped at Samus's legs, narrowly missing each time. Wario eased Articuno up to try and take a shot at the Dragonite and freeze it, trying very hard not to inadvertently hit Pit instead. Zapdos and I passed through the hole in the roof first, meaning all I saw was an ice beam headed for Pit before I emerged into the daylight. Zapdos hovered, watching for who or what would emerge after Articuno. I wasn't sure of it, but I thought I could read concern in his expression. Wario flew Articuno out, Owain hugging his waist. Then came the next flyer.

Pit held Samus so tightly to his body that a crowbar wouldn't have shifted his grip. A deep red gash spanned Samus's right thigh, blood staining her blue suit.
"This is gonna ruin my whole day..." she said, attempting a smirk. We decided to fly back to the plains outside Yilisse for safety before tending to her wound. I looked back and saw the rest of the palace collapse in a similar fashion to the roof we flew from.

Palutena's healing powers flowed through Pit's hand and into Samus's leg, closing up the muscle and fixing her suit.
"Now I really AM impressed. This suit was expensive!" Samus joked and Pit and Wario chuckled.
"I am proud of you, young heroes. You have ventured far and faced many enemies. But alas, there is one more aviary companion to find. Owain. I believe that Moltres, legendary bird of fire, resides still with your father. Am I correct?" Palutena said down to us.
"Indeed. Do you know their whereabouts?" Owain replied.
"I believe, young one, that they are headed to Indigo Plateau with their eldest son. Meet them there, and hurry lest you miss them. Adieu." with that Palutena disappeared.
"well," Owain began, a sombre look on his face "It's time I told you why Red is the favourite, I guess. Let's move."

Hey! I put off writing chapter 23 for so long that I almost gave up on this story. As an apology, I'll post this chapter straight after as well. I'm sitting my exams in a little over 7 weeks, so I probably won't publish much until after that. I hope you're enjoying Reversed so far though ;)
