Pit stood by me and shot down anything that came to us as I struggled to regain my breath. Owain easily held his own, using spells at a rate that I had I thought impossible. Some of the maneuvers he made resembled poses I'd seen his father painted in, which seemed to imply he had taught Owain, but I also saw spells that looked like dark incantations that an evil warlock may have cast. This spread the same doubt in my mind that I'd heard Frederick mention, questioning his mindset. Pit's arrows continued to fire and hit with complete accuracy, with an enemy falling to them every two or three seconds.
"This is just like how I practiced! I used to go to the archery galleria all the time before I was called upon, and it's good to see my hard work pay off!" Pit said, clearly enjoying himself more than he should have been.

Zapdos let out a loud cry of effort as about twenty lighting bolts erupted from his body, each hitting another pokemon. By now there were only very few left, and a retreat was called. More were killed as the troops fled, however some did manage to escape. Not long after this the skies cleared and Zapdos was visibly calmer.
"That's them sorted. What now?" said Owain.
"Maybe some help over here!" I struggled to say through my agonised state. Owain ran over and crouched on the opposite side of me to where Pit was. It was about then that Zapdos came over and sat at my feet as well.
"I should check you over, hang on... FRATENDA KRAMLON!" Owain extended a glowing hand over my body and my chest became translucent enough to see my internal organs and bone structure. I saw three of my ribs on my left side and one on my right had snapped and were unnervingly out of place.
"I'm not sure I can heal this Cloud, I've only ever managed to cure minor illnesses before... I never learnt my mother's healing skills... How stupid of me..."
I said to them "it's over now. I guess it really is my time. I don't think that I can fight it."
"surely there's something we can do?" Pit said tearfully. Owain shook his head.

Pit began to sob and as he cried so did Owain. Zapdos stood up and leant over me before laying a wing over my body in a compassionate gesture, tears welling up in his eyes too.
