Owain's sword glistening in the sunshine, he ran at me giving me barely enough time to grab my blade and counter his assault. Pit was pulled back and a clear arena was made for us. I'd had some practice in close combat when I was a boy, but surely this prince was to pose a threat to me. Each swipe of his met a block of mine, but I had little or no opportunity to strike back. A moment's rest for Owain gave me just a large enough window to push away his sword and deliver a strong kick to his abdomen, winding him a little and knocking him back.
"nice move, but you haven't seen my ace!" he said to me, putting up his hood and using his sword to steady himself. He blinked for a second or two, and when his eyes re opened they were blacked out. His body began to radiate some sort of dark aura and he was lifted about a foot off the ground. His sword began to float around him, seemingly of its own accord, enchanted by this dark power. The sword jabbed at me many times, Owain chuckling as it did so. Quicker and quicker I was forced to move to avoid being impaled, every moment looking for what the next would hold. A swing from the right hand side game me enough room to lunge at Owain himself. Clearly catching him off guard, he fumbled his thoughts and the spell was broken, sending both him and the sword to the floor.
"Well fought, one of Midgar. My apologies on behalf of my men's actions" he said, picking himself up.
"Please, call me Cloud. Pit and I were on our way here anyway. We were hoping to gather some information about the last King, Chrom. We need to locate his aviary companion to help us destroy League Army." I said to Owain as Pit was handed back his bow.
"Oh, so you want information on my uncle. Just like everyone else..." he replied.
"everyone else?"
"being honest I don't blame you. Many people don't even know that I exist, let alone wanting my companionship. Stopping League Army certainly warrants assistance..."
Pit's eyes lit up as he said "Perhaps you could join our party? We would certainly be greatful of your help and your knowledge and skills would be invaluable to us. We'd happily bring you along with us!"
Owain looked to the floor in thought, and then said
"I am, as of this moment, a member of your team, and I have a feeling I'll be able to help with your next step."
