Kol's POV

We waited impatiently for Freya to finish the locator spell. Watching the map laid out on the table, I observed the way the ash moved. Suddenly, it covered all of New Orleans, blocking Freya's spell.

"It's no use. She's put a protection spell on herself, meaning I can only sum it down to New Orleans". She stepped away from the table in defeat.

Angered by this, Klaus hit the table and stormed off.

My hunger began to kick in as my craving for human blood suddenly became strong.

Freya looked at me in concern, knowing I was about to go and kill.

"Kol, fight the hunger. You're better than this. Davina would be ashamed if she knew you were acting like this" She placed a hand on my shoulder to comfort me, but instead she only made me more angry.

I turned around and shook off her hand. "Don't you dare speak of her like that!" I approached her so my face was close to her, overpowering her. "You have no right to tell me what I am".

Feeling my fangs extending, I sped out of the room using vampire speed until I was out on the streets.

Luckily they were empty apart from one girl walking along the sidewalk.

I ran up behind her and bit her neck, forgetting to compel her to not scream.

She wriggled in my grasp and shrieked, trying to escape from her incoming death.

After a while though, she went limp in my arms, her heartbeat slowing until it stopped completely. I pulled away once I had drained her dry, letting her go so I could see the damage I'd caused.

Tears began forming in my eyes as I fell to the floor, the loss of Davina hitting me again. Every time I kill, I see her and I see what the ancestors made me do to her. The pain is suffocating, and it makes me feel I'll never recover.

After a while, I stood up and wiped away the tears as well as clearing the blood off my face.

A strong breeze blew past me, so powerful it seemed unnatural.

Clouds formed in the sky above our home, before a crash of thunder hit the streets. Witchcraft.

I could hear chanting behind me, the sounds of footsteps approaching where I was.

Turning around, I saw a hooded figure walking towards the mansion, conjuring the storm.

It was definitely the girl Klaus was looking for, and she was powerful. Dressed in black, she blended into the night, her face hidden but her appearance still was strong.

Another bolt of thunder struck the inside courtyard and soon after smoke began to rise. I ran inside and saw everyone working to put out the flames. Elijah was using a fire extinguisher to control the danger whilst Hayley looked after Hope. Freya and Klaus were throwing water over the fire p, trying to destroy it.

Suddenly there was a downpour of rain, killing the fire completely, allowing everyone to relax.

Quickly rushing back to the streets, I looked to see the figure was still there. She dropped her hand and the rain stopped, almost as if someone had turned off the tap.

It was clear she was looking at me, yet I was still unable to make out any of her features.

"Elisa?" I called to her. "That's your name, isn't it? You're part witch and part vampire, your mother was an ancestor, and she was destroyed with them?" I tried to get her to respond to me, but she remained silent.

"I'm Kol, Kol..."

"Mikaelson" she said. Her voice sounded sweet yet full of rage, almost as if the words leaving her mouth were poisonous. A sense of recognition hit me, causing me to question where we'd met before.

"I know who you are, and you know who I am. We were friends, and now I despise you. You made me what I am now, and for that I will hate you until the day I die".

Before I could react, she ran towards me and punched me in the face, making me fall to the ground. I tried to recover but she pinned me down by putting her foot on my chest. I fought against her but was unable to break free.

Looking up, I watched as she lifted her hands and pulled down her hood. Shock overcame me when I saw her face.

Memories flooded back as I remembered everything that we did together. Climbing trees, running round the streets, being called a couple even though we were best friends. Then the memories of her death hit me.

"Elisa Jones? But that's.... impossible". She gave me an evil grin. "Elisa, I'm sorry about your mother, I..."

She moved her foot up to my throat, choking me.

"You killed my mother, Kol. We're not friends anymore. You took everything away from me. Tonight, I gave your family a taste of my power. Tell them if they mess with me or come after me, I will burn this town like you burned down mine".

In a blink of an eye, she vanished, leaving me on the floor in disbelief.
