Kol's POV

It had been 2 days since Rosetta killed that man. I walked through the streets, trying to clear my head over what had happened and what gossip had been going round. Apparently she's still been killing and dumping bodies in the river, and Klaus has been stealing Freya's dark objects to give her. Freya hadn't noticed yet, but I could always tell when something was missing.

I rounded a corner and saw something that shocked me. Rosetta was there, draining a girl dry. I wanted to look away but couldn't, the blood driving me insane. I was getting better now I had Elisa, but with her gone again, my hunger had got stronger. Thankfully, she finished draining the body and threw it into a bin, before turning round and realising I was there.

She smirked at me and wiped her face clean. "Keep on hoping lover boy, you're not getting your precious Elisa back for a while".

She walked past me and went back into the streets, brushing against my shoulder. As she did, I was reminded of the day I met Elisa and Rosetta Jones.

*flashback*

Me and Klaus walked along a road, admiring the houses. After spending weeks running from father, we finally settled into a small village in the woods.

"So Kol,  any idea who you want for dinner tonight? I know you're one to rip a town apart" Klaus joked. I rolled my eyes at him and laughed slightly. A woman brushed past my shoulder, causing me to turn suddenly. I was about to shout at her until I looked up the road and I saw her.

A girl, with the most stunning eyes and a smile that could light up a star. She was walking along the street with her mother with a package in her hand. Obviously she was moving into the village.

Klaus followed my stare and smirked. "I'm guessing you've found your meal". I smiled at him, however I had no intention on hurting this girl. I intended to be her friend.

-------------------------------

I sat in a tree outside her window, watching her walk round her room making sure everything was in place. Her mother entered and wished her goodnight before leaving the girl to do as she pleased.

I smiled as she span round in a circle, almost as if she was in the best place in the world. She approached the window, opening it fully.

I observed as she looked at a dying plant on her window ceil, looking around at the street. Then, she began chanting a spell, and I watched the flower begin to bloom again. This caused her to smile and let out a slight giggle, almost as if she felt witchcraft was a gift.

Suddenly, she looked up into the tree I was in and saw me, her face changing from happy to fearful of what I had seen. Realising she was scared, I put my finger to my lips, showing her I was going to keep her secret. When she saw this, the smile returned to her face as she realised she was safe and I wasn't a threat.

I knew she didn't know what I was, so I decided to jump from the tree and up to her window. When I was by her, her breathing increased, as a look of shock crossed her face. I could see how nervous she was, therefore I hushed her, trying to help her calm down. "Relax, Darling. I'm not going to hurt you".

"H...how did you do t...that?" She stuttered. I looked down and smirked. "I'm a vampire, love. I'm pretty good when it comes to jumping".

Her breathing relaxed and returned to a normal pace and she looked at me worriedly. "You're not going to hurt me are you?"

I shook my head, making sure she realised I was an ally, not an enemy.

"I purely wish for us to be friends. Allow me to introduce myself. Kol Mikaelson" I grabbed her hand and kissed it, causing her to blush.

"Elisa Jones. And the pleasure is all mine, Kol".

We sat talking by her window for hours, until she became sleepy and said goodnight.

I jumped down and began walking home, only to be met by Nicklaus at the door.

"How was your meal, brother?" He asked with a devilish grin. I put on a fake smirk and replied "satisfying".

Running up to my room, I looked at the ceiling, thinking of Elisa Jones and her magical secret. I was excited to see what the future would bring for us both.

*end of flashback*
"Kol" Elijah said, bringing me back to reality. I was still in the alleyway, staring out into the street. He looked at me worried, but I quickly shook off the flashback. "What's wrong brother?" I asked, pretending like nothing had just happened.

"Freya's found a spell to get Rosetta out of Elisa's body". My heart skipped a beat. Finally I'd have her back, and I could finally make amends with her.

"In that case, let's help her prepare" I began walking past him but he stopped me. "It's not that simple, Kol" he looked at me, fear and sympathy in his eyes. Unsure of what he meant, I looked at him curiously.

"For the spell to work, Rosetta needs to die whilst still inside Elisa, meaning we will have to dagger her for a small amount of time".

I thought it through, realising that if we daggered Elisa, she'd begin to desecrate, meaning we'd have to remove the dagger before the process was complete. I looked at him as if to say 'is there another way?' to which he shook his head.

"Freya is strong enough to be able to destroy Rosetta, but once she is out Elisa's body, she will for a short time be in visible spirit form. That's when we need to dagger Elisa as she will be her mother's life source" he explained.

I'd spent years thinking Elisa was dead. I didn't plan on making that a reality.
