Warm water runs over her scalp and on her strawberry blonde hair all the way down her eyelashes and face and further down. It relaxes her pulsing veins underneath her muscles. Lydia was taking a shower in the girls' locker room. She run her hands on her wet and damp strawberry blonde hair. She softly rubs her hands on her face feeling the warm liquid against her skin.
" Do you really have to study for biology? "
" It's a pop quiz, Lydia, and I'm going for it. "Hayden and Lydia took showers before their swimming for physical exercise. They were at Beacon Hills High and at the pool area. The sunshine shined over the water of the pool creating a good sight on the eyes for the swimmers. It was a Monday morning.
The sixteen-year-old brunette and seventeen-year-old strawberry blonde walked in the area. The pool was big and it had multiple windows just below the ceiling. There were only two doors to enter and exit. They were not exactly doors but openings since there were no doors screwed on them. There were only teenage girls around.
" You know, one doesn't actually need to study to have a big score or grade. You can just be clever enough to copy someone's work. Move your gaze a bit then you can see their answers. There's so many ways of cheating, Hayden. Put a small piece of paper with your notes written on it then stick it on your wrist underneath your sleeve. " Lydia said with her chin up.
Hayden gave Lydia a look.
" No, I'm totally kidding you. " Lydia laughed. " I'm such a bad influence. Go. " and then she wished her good luck.
Hayden rolled her eyes at her best friend before grinning and walking away.
Lydia turned around at the pool. Her smile faded away at the sight. There was no presence to be found. The girls that were just swimming a while ago were gone. Lydia wondered how and why they've all gone. The water looked like it wasn't even touched. The tiles were dry as if no wet feet had walked there. Her surroundings seemed so eery.
Suddenly, the lights started turning off one by one until everything went dark. Dark? How could it be when it was morning a few seconds ago.
The bright moonlight still made Lydia see a little bit around her surroundings. She looked around the pool area before partially getting out to the hallway.
" Hello? " she yelled. " Hey, I'm still in here! " But she could only hear her own voice replying as an echo.
The hall was pretty dark and silent. There was an eccentric feeling in Lydia's veins.
She got back inside the pool area and looked at the water for a moment. She thought for a moment if she would either find the electrician or look for any sign of life.
" Whatever. " she said to herself before jumping in the water.
Suddenly, the pool she had jumped into was now this dirty and polluted river-like water underneath. Nothing seemed clean and even the water was black itself.
She immediately surfaced in the water gasping loudly and looked around her surroundings. She was still in the pool area. The water was still the same and so was the place she was in the last time. She checked the water but it was all normal. She furrowed her brows in confusion.
Lydia dipped her face back into the water and there, she saw water looking lifeless full of this peculiar black liquid or matter. It mostly looked like it was polluted and toxic.
She pulled her head back at the strange taste and smell of the liquid. She was still so puzzled as to how this was possible. How could the water look so clean and normal outside then into it, it was in squalor condition.
