The tension slowly faded away. Their subconsciouses seemed to disappear from their intentions. The strong connection withered ever gently. Their lungs were moving again as they started to suck in soft breaths. That feeling, that new and unknown feeling they felt once before was long gone. That was the moment when their lips pulled away.
Then, suddenly, they escaped their trances and they were back to earth. They were conscious again even though they were never unconscious before. In fact, they were very much alive back then. They've never felt more alive in their lives since.
Their faces pull back softly. They could both still taste the breathtaking feeling on their lips.
Finally, they opened their eyes. They looked at each other completely astonished. Both were processing as to what exactly just happened.
Stiles and Lydia kissed. That's what happened.
" You kissed me. " she said.
" I kissed you. " he replied.
" You kissed me. " she said again.
" I kissed you. " he replied again.Stiles was just as astonished and dumbfounded as Lydia was. They were both completely unaware of the reason why they kissed and why they were so drawn to doing it. As wrong as it was, they had to admit, it felt so right.
Both of them gently let go of each other's latch and shifted awkwardly on their seats.
" You're not supposed to kiss me. " she sighed closing her eyes.
" And you're not supposed to kiss me back. " he said as he gulped lightly staring at the ground.
Lydia opened her eyes and looked at him with this is solid look on the face but her eyes were still soft as they landed on him.
Stiles looked back at her and pressed his lips together. That's when she noticed his lips were finally wet! So, you did that. Her subconscious said but she was still too shook to respond to her.
And so, after a long, completely awkward and uncomfortable drive back to Lydia's house, they pulled over by it. Lydia, as always, was too stubborn to accept his offer of walking her to her front door. Stiles insisted and they were now walking towards her place's front door almost looking like zombies. The ones that were very slow and lifeless from the movies. Who am I kidding? THEY ARE LIFELESS.
And no, I didn't mean Stiles and Lydia. I meant the zombies. Hehe.
They stopped by the front porch. Lydia was fiddling with her fingers awkwardly and Stiles had his hands in his pockets uncomfortably.
" Well, this is it. " she said clicking her tongue.
Stiles sighed. " Yeah, this is it. Goodbye to that extremely awkward and uncomfortable dead silence I suffered for half an hour. "
Whoa. That almost sounded like Stiles was reading Lydia's mind or at least her subconscious' words. Her inner goddess was giggling secretly but Lydia kept a straight face. Her gaze landed on Stiles. He then started to move his feet backward and off the porch then to the stairs. Lydia watched as he walked slowly to his jeep. He wasn't even halfway there due to the motion of his steps. Lydia couldn't help but think of him possibly trying to tell her to catch up and say something. Lydia faced the front door and thrusted the key in. She turned and was ready to turn the doorknob itself. She hesitated to do so. She could still hear his footsteps slowly fading away. She closed her eyes and exhaled.
Well, aren't you gonna say something? What are you waiting for?! Both her subconscious and inner goddess yelled at her.
