I was born a foreigner deep inside your being
I was born a foreigner without you seeing
I was born inside you when you started doubting yourself
That's when you began to feel like some sort of elf
You thought of yourself as someone that small with no meaning at all
So, you had no reason to fight me off and become taller than tall
But I'm finally here to tell you that that isn't true
I was born a foreigner, but you can still fight me off too
Because now I'm no longer a foreigner; you know me well
I'm no longer a foreigner, because, deep inside you, you can, me, tell
You can see me because I'm no longer foreign to you
I'm a part of you that you don't like, but the above fact is still true
So, fight me off with all of your being
I know it's hard, but now you can do it seeing

Can you guess who I am?
