"Hey! How are you?" "Oh, I'm fine"
Do you actually feel as fine as you say you do?
I don't believe that to be true at all
So, say how you feel even if you don't want to

I get it; I do
You don't want to be rejected by the person you're talking to
Or hurt by them in any way, or at all
Maybe you also don't trust them because you've experienced something that you can never get back; that made you feel small

But I'm here to tell you it's okay to say "I'm fine" even if you do not feel it
It's okay to be vulnerable for a bit
I'm saying this to myself too
Because I also need to teach it to myself, but at a different pace than you

Because everyone learns at a different pace when they're taught something new
So, if you don't feel fine, then it's okay to say you do
Especially to people who aren't really interested in your welfare
Especially if they don't care

There are many things that are hidden behind "I'm fine"
You might actually feel not so divine
You may feel anxious, depressed, sad, angry, mad to name a few
But that doesn't even cover all the hues

All the hues hidden behind the words "I'm fine"
All the words said to make you seem, or look, okay
Meanwhile, you might not be as okay as you seem, or look
Meanwhile, you might be having a rainy day

But this rainy day might be inside of you
And not so apparant to the outside view
So, when people see you and you say "I'm fine", you might have a smile on your face
But meanwhile, inside of you, there are emotions all over the place

It is totally understandable, from my point of view
After all, we're all human, and it's okay to feel
You don't have to say what you feel inside
But, sometimes you do, to make the emotion real

Sometimes, you have to face your emotions even if you don't want to
Sometimes, you have to do what seems impossible to you
And, sometimes, you have to feel to make the emotion real
Otherwise, you won't get past it and that, to me, is a big deal

So, you can say you're fine, but I know you're most likely not
And I know you don't want to face it right now, because those emotions are in a soft spot
But, eventually, you will have to face them even if you don't want to
Eventually, you will face them and the emotions you feel, will change your point of view

I know, for a fact, that some of what I said is true
And the other parts will eventually be true to you soon
And when that happens, I will dance with joy
Over the moon
