You say you're listening, but are you?
You say you hear what I say, but I don't feel that to be true
Because listening and hearing are two different things
And they do emotions bringWhen I feel you're not listening anymore, I don't talk anymore
But who knows what goes in one ear and not out the other?
Who knows who really is listened for sure?
Who knows what isn't irritating the ear canal so that you actually hear what I say instead of me thinking I'm a bother?I open my mouth and out comes letters that form words
Do you get that and hear me too?
Do you listen with both ears or does it go into one ear and out the other like a bird?
Because a bird can fly into one ear and out the other and enjoy the viewSo, are my words like a bird to you?
Or do they have meaning beyond what is being said?
Is it even worth talking to someone who's barely even hearing, and listening too?
Is what I say even getting, and registering, into your head?
