Not good enough

I am not good enough for you
I need to "fix" myself and then you'll be satisfied
What I do isn't enough
I'm not appreciated in your eyes

                              
I need to fix myself for you in order for you to be friends with me?
Is that what's considered normal to you?
Really?
Is that what's considered tried and true?

                              
I send you messages now and you ignore them
Why?
Am I not shiny enough as a gem?
Do I need to be "cleaned" more for you to be satisfied?

                              
You told me I am too this and too that
What about you, I ask?
Aren't you a little too this and too that too?
Am I the only one with the things-that-need-to-be-fixed task?
