This can't be happening.
It just....cant be happening!
I aimlessly twisted my parcel in my hand.
I don't believe it...
Zelda sighed, crashing on her bed. "I guess we both have guy problems now?"
"Don't go there."
"I'm telling you, Peach. Let go of him. He's stupid."
I shook my head, tears welling up in my eyes.
No, no, he isn't stupid. I love him!
"But I don't get it," she said, "why would Mario cheat on you?"
"SHUT UP!" I screamed, tossing a turnip at her.
Zelda rubbed her arm. "Ouch.. "
"I trust Mario. He...he would never cheat on me!"
"Well guess what, sweetie?! He did! "
"No!" I shouted. "I just can't believe... She came. She bought herself into the school. How could she?!"
Zelda rolled her eyes. "There you go again, blaming on someone who isn't Mario."
"He didn't do anything!"
"Peach, listen to me-"
"Why do I have to listen to you when you won't listen to ME?!"
She sighed and sat down. "Look, I'm sorry. But I don't think I can forgive Link..."
"And I don't think I can forgive Pauline!"
Yes, Pauline is here.
Here to take Mario.
Let me explain. Then you'll understand where I'm coming from.
***
"Mario?" I called. "Mario?"
He told me we would meet in the auditorium. But through a text, which is weird. Mario told me he'd never text me... Because he loves to hear my voice. Isn't that so cute?
Where is he? I called Mario, but her didn't pick up. I need to ask Luigi, then. But I don't have Luigi's number...
But I do have Daisy's.
Ugh, Daisy. She's so sweet and the perfect addition to the popular group. But she never gets the hint! I invited her to sit once.
She didn't come back.
So I maybe decided that I'll make her so unpopular that she'll want to be in the popular group...
Oh well.
"Whaddya want, Peach?" she said plainly through the phone.
"Where's Luigi?"
"Right here. Don't worry, I'll give the phone to him."
I waited.
"Princess?" Luigi's soft voice said.
"Do you know where Mario is?"
"...No... Did you try calling him?"
"Yeah."
"I don't know, Princess. Sorry."
"No, it's fine." I ended the call and sighed. I made my way out of the auditorium. Why can't I find him?
"W-what do you-a want?"
I immediately straightened. Mario.
Is... Is he in danger? I clenched a golf club (I suggest you don't ask where I got it from) and headed toward his voice.
"Oh, don't worry, Mario," said a familiar voice. "Peach won't catch us here."
My breath hitched. What? Do they not want me there? I tightened my grin on the golf club in my hands.
Mario's with a girl.
"But-"
"Come on, Mario," the voice whined. "I told you she won't find us."
And then there was silence.
Well, too bad for this girl, because I found them.
They're in the props room.
I took a firm step towards the door. Yet I hesitated.
Ignorance is bliss.
But I can't stand to be ignorant right now. Not when it comes to Mario.
I swung the door open.
My jaw dropped, along with my golf club. It skittered on the tiles floor of the room.
They were kissing.
Mario and Pauline were kissing.
"M-Mario!" I exclaimed, voice threatening to shake.
But I am Peach Toadstool, princess and ruler of the entire Mushroom Kingdom, and Mario is my hero.
I will not break down in front of Pauline.
"Mario? Who's making this noise?" Pauline asked, all over MY plumber.
"Peach, I swear, it isn't what it looks like-"
I cut him off with a scoff. I placed my hands on my hips and blinked tears out of my eyes.
I scoffed yet again. In the spur of the moment, I said, "No, no. Go on, please."
My heart broke when I realized the Pauline was going to kiss him yet again.
"Uh, privacy?" Pauline said sassily.
I left with my golf club.
Next thing I knew, I was crying my heart out, repeating Mario's name.
He couldn't have done this.
He can't do this to me.
Not Mario.
My sadness then went to anger. I hate Pauline. So darn much.
I was so angry that I snapped my golf club in half.
And harvested over fifty turnips.
***
Zelda sighed. "I know it hurts...so let's get her expelled."
"Wait. Are you serious?" I asked, wiping tears from my eyes.
She nodded.
"Do me a favor, Zelda," I said. "Try to like Link again."
She hesitated. "W-well, if it's for your sake..."
Yessss.
I took a shaky breath. I will be strong. I will not cry.
I pulled out a notebook and pencil.
"So," I announced, "how are we going to get Pauline out of here?"
A/N:
How was the chapter? Pauline has crashed the party. Things are about to get real crazy! Hope you enjoyed! Have a great day!
