"Can you take me to her?"

Eirian frowned uncomfortable even though a smug smile widened on her face. "I'm not really in her favor." She stood uneasy as the girl watched her bemused. "So I took her boyfriend," she exclaimed defensive with brows raised.

"Nanna's boyfriend?"

"I had him first."

"She can't have a boyfriend! She's my nanna and she's married!"

Eirian laughed delighted. "I thought you said you had met her. She is young and hot and nobody's nanna now. But I'm keeping Taithleach."

"That's the boyfriend's name?"

"My boyfriend."

Maddie sighed. "You sound petty."

Eirian pursed her lips. "Sibling rivalry," she muttered. "She's not your nanna, she's your sister... our sister."

Maddie's brows changed between surprised raised and confused lowered while she processed this new information. Finally she shook her head. "I want to meet her. Find her for me!"

Eirian looked baffled. "Find her?"

"Yes, if I'm supposed to be training for the position of ruler of the nine realms, you better want to please me."

Eirian was baffled, her mouth opened and closed several times while she tried to find something to say. "You could have just asked me." She turned on her heel and walked out of there. Maddie stood there feeling like a jerk. She knew she had done wrong, but everything was so confusing and she desperately needed to ground herself.

* * *

I had slept so deep in my hotel room, and woke up well rested, ready to take on life. The small window stood open and this little town enticed me with sounds and smells that I couldn't wait to explore.

The duvet rustled soft as I turned in bed and a lazy smile widened on my face. A thought flickered through my mind; this somehow felt more luxurious than many of the mornings I had woken up in the royal palace. How strange. Life at the palace had somehow been exactly as restraining as life with Charles had been.

I pulled out of bed, took a refreshing shower and found my way to the breakfast room. "Quel amrun." A smiling girl showed me to a table and I had required enough alvish to know to answer a mirrored "Good morning" to her.

The breakfast consisted of an array of delicious fruits and berries, some of which I now recognized and pastries that were worthy more than one star in Guide Michelin. The staff that was very forthcoming, gladly explained about the towns history and recommended places that I just shouldn't miss. With their advice in mind I couldn't wait to explore this small town.

Excited I left the hotel on my own. My tiny friends had kept their distance and I sent them a silent thank you for showing me this town. The houses were picturesque and flowers bloomed in windowboxes everywhere. A light wind rustled my hair, sweeping scents of bakery with it.

People I met smiled friendly and I felt my own smile widen in response. After being surrounded by all the blond Alves in the palace it felt fantastic to meet such an array of different people. Here I even found children, something I realised I hadn't come across since I had entered this realm.
