Maya's POV.
From Scott: Hey, it's Scott from the hospital...my friend is gonna pick me up for the party so can I come pick you up now and bring you to mine to hang for a bit before he picks us up?
From Scott: If you still want to come that is...
To Scott: Aha yeah okay but can you give me like ten minutes?
From Scott: Yeah that's fine.
I smile, getting excited for this party. There'll be new people there, a new atmosphere to surround myself with. I send him my address and he replies that he'll be here in about thirty minutes. Good.
I quickly rush to the bathroom, jumping into the shower to wash away the morning and last night. Luckily the stupid gash on my hand has a waterproof bandage on it or else it'd probably get infected.
I roll my eyes at it and finish up my shower quickly, drying off as soon as I'm done. It's now 6:34pm so that means I took fifteen minutes in the shower, which is pretty quick for me.
With only fifteen minutes to get ready I rush into my room, holding my towel up to cover me, glad both Shawn and my mother had left for work right after we got home from the hospital. It'd be awkward if one of them saw me in just a towel.
Shaking that thought from my head, I quickly search from something nice to wear. I decide to just put throw together a grey singlet top that says in black writing, 'Always follow your dreams - they know where to take you' with a black and white bomber jacket, some ripped leggings and black boots.
Once dressed I have only seven minutes left and rush back to the bathroom, putting on some mascara, and fixing up my hair a little. Since I have like no time, I leave it in its natural waves and then go back to my room.
As I'm putting things into a small shoulder bag, Scott texts me that he's outside but not sure which building is mine. I roll my eyes and laugh, checking that I've got everything before going downstairs.
When I walk out I look around, finding Scott next to a black car (that I don't know the type of car because...well I just don't know car types). I walk over to him and he waves awkwardly.
"Sorry, I just didn't want to risk walking into some random's place." He apologizes and I roll my eyes.
"It's alright," I assure him and he smiles.
"Good because I wouldn't have cared if it wasn't." He laughs, joking. "So you're ready to go? We're probably gonna be at mine for at least two hours so do you need to grab anything else before we leave?"
"Nah, I got everything." I tell him and he nods. We get into the car and he starts driving, putting on some music to make things less awkward. I decide to start a conversation after a few minutes, feeling awkward. "So why'd you have to come get me so early anyway?"
