Third Person.
The next two days of school fly by for Maya as the thought of Josh coming over on Thursday plays over and over in her head throughout each day.
Tuesday night when she left the Matthews' place consisted of talking with Shawn about her day, then catching up with her mom for a bit. When she went to bed she had some trouble falling asleep, so much playing in her mind.
Eventually though, she fell asleep and when she woke up she rushed around getting ready for school that morning. Shawn had driven her, deciding to stay quiet during the drive, still not over the time she ran away from him after he tried to talk to her.
And then she went about her day watching the ticking clock draw closer and closer to the day's end. When the bell finally went off, she rushed out with Riley, the two of them making their way to Topanga's where they hung out for a while just chatting.
Riley couldn't work out what Maya was so happy about that day, but it was Thursday when she got really curious.
Maya had woken up early. Her mind was so excited that it was finally Thursday that she couldn't even contain herself. She rushed away getting ready and then ate breakfast with her family before leaving the house, alone.
She had too much time on her hands and decided to take herself to school that morning - making her way to Riley's first. Although the trip to her brunette best friend's house was long and tiring, Maya was still full of energy by the time she got there.
She surprised Riley as she crawled in through the window of the fire escape and smiled at her. Riley could see how bright and full of life Maya's eyes were and she couldn't help but smile at how happy the blonde was.
Riley didn't say anything about her happiness though, not yet. Instead she greeted the blonde with the same level of enthusiasm she always has and then lead Maya out of the room to the kitchen.
Once there, the other Matthews' all greeted her excitedly, glad to see the blonde, and glad to see her so happy. Josh was also very happy that morning, for the same reason as Maya but he toned it down much easier than she had.
Their eyes connected and Maya's heart felt as though it was going to explode, staring into his beautiful, shining blue eyes. Then he looked away, realizing that they were staring at each other for an odd amount of time.
Everyone in the room noticed it but no one mentioned anything, instead saying their farewells to the two girls who had to leave for school. They made their way there, Riley trying to work out what got Maya is such a happy, good mood, but the blonde wasn't giving her any straight answers.
So she gave up and the rest of the transit to school was filled with Riley speaking about Lucas. Maya didn't mind listening and by the time they got to school she was able to tone down her smiley face just a tad.
Her classes felt like they went on forever and ever while she watched the clock, wishing for the day to just end so she could go home and see Josh. At snack, her friends all wanted to comment on her glowing aura, but Riley stopped them, letting them know they won't get an answer.
And at lunch, when Maya hung out with her other friend group, both Scott and Stiles tried to get answers out of her too. They weren't in luck and instead just decided to go with it, happy to see their friend so bright and gleaming.
It was such a loving scene and they enjoyed seeing her so smiley.
After that, her next two classes dragged by and Maya is now sitting on the edge of her seat, watching the clock hands tick so slowly to each number on the clock. She sighs, counting the minutes and then finally the seconds until the bell rings.
