Third Person. (A/N: Just to get a feel for how other characters are feeling)

Maya wakes up, uncomfortable and tired. There's a bird outside her window chirping away like it owns the place or something.

Next to her is her phone, laying beside her ear and she takes it in her hands. She unlocks it and memories of last next comes floating back into her mind as she looks at Josh's name.

He must have hung up, she thinks to herself, not able to remember if she had. She sees that it's already past 11AM so she may as well get out of bed. Though she struggles a bit, she drags herself with her good leg and arm onto her wheelchair and begins wheeling over to the door.

To be quite honest, Maya didn't realize how hard this whole broken leg and arm, sitting and moving about in a wheelchair, would actually turn out to be. Especially when it comes to opening the door.

She stretches out with her one arm, careful to not put too much weight on her bad leg. It takes her a couple tries but eventually she is able to free herself from her room and wheel out into the hallway.

As she moves down the hall, towards the kitchen, she hears her mother and Shawn chatting away together, sounding rather cheerful.

They're sitting at the breakfast bar, eating some fruit as they had breakfast earlier when they first woke up. The both quiet when they hear the electric humming of Maya's wheelchair and turn to look at her.

"Oh hunny!" Katy is quick to stand and go towards her daughter, guilt overcoming her. "You should've called out and one of us could have helped you!"

Maya rolls her eyes. "Mom, I'm not completely crippled." She tells her, not meaning to sound rude but she's grumpy from lack of sleep.

Her mother is oblivious to her attitude and moves into the kitchen, over to the fridge. "What would you like me to make you for breakfast, baby girl?" She starting grabbing out some apple juice - Maya's favourite morning drink. "Some eggs on toast with avocado?"

Maya thanks her for the juice and nods her head, not really caring what her mom makes her. If it were up to her, she'd would have stayed in bed for the rest of her life. But of course, she knows she can't so that's why she got up.

"So how did you sleep, Maya?" Shawn asks, a small, hopeful smile on his face. He just wants her to be happy, and to feel comfortable in this house.

"Um," Maya hums out, not sure if she should lie or not. "Good, thank you. The bed's really comfy in there." She chooses to lie, seeing that Shawn looked so hopeful that she was settling in okay. She doesn't want to disappoint him. Or her mom for that matter, who's smiling by the stove as she cooks the eggs.

"That's great!" Shawn smiles happily and Maya nods.

Shawn gets up, excusing himself to go upstairs as he needs to get ready for some job project meeting he has today with his friend. So Maya and her mom stay in the kitchen, chatting about that while Katy cooks and Maya scrolls on her social media pages, catching up with everything she missed out on while being in hospital.

It's not like they didn't let her on her phone, it's just that they didn't have the greatest internet, it was hard to go put her phone on charge so it died on her multiple times a day, and also, she was in a coma for a lot of her stay.

"So is Riley or anyone else coming to visit you today?" Katy asks, setting down a plate of food in front of her daughter.

Maya thanks her and shrugs.

She actually hasn't talked to anyone about them coming over; the thought never actually crossed her mind. But she does miss all of her friends a lot. More than a lot actually; it's almost like it hurts how much she misses them all.
