(A/N: Short chapter).

Maya's POV.

It's not as warm as yesterday morning when I wake up. The breeze coming in through the window slightly refreshing. Riley wrapped in my arms, radiating heat is probably what's making the warm wind feel cooler though.

She seems completely out of it, in a deep sleep that's going to take too much effort to get her out of. I don't bother with her, moving my arm out from under her and slowly getting off the bed.

It's surprisingly early; only 9:23am reads on the digital clock on the bedside table. That's a relief. I go to my suitcase that I never bothered to unpack, grabbing out some clothes. I take out a black dress and white, lacy top to go under it. The top is flowy and light so it on't be too bad in the heat.

I leave the room, going to the bathroom, glad it's empty so I can shower. Their showers here are surprisingly amazing, the water comes out at just the right temperature and speed and it's honestly so relaxing.

After locking the door I put down my clothes on the sink bench and strip down before getting into the shower. The cold start wakes me up a lot and I savor the feeling, deciding to just take a cold shower this morning.

Since I'm at someone else house, I don't take an extra long shower like I would love to, so I get out after about ten minutes once I've washed my hair and body. Someone knocks on the door just as I'm drying myself off and I jump.

"Uh-um I'm in here..." I call out, trailing off awkwardly.

"Yeah I know." It's Zay, I can tell not just from his voice but the laugh that comes with it. "Are you gonna be done soon? I've gotta get my hair stuff."

"Oh. Yeah, five more minutes?" I tell him and he gives a quick 'okay' before I hear his footsteps leave. I sigh in relief. I don't know why but I always get jumpy when I'm in someone else's bathroom and someone knocks. It's almost like I think I'm gonna get in trouble or something.

Lucky it was just Zay though. I laugh to myself quietly at how he sounded when he spoke to me through the door and then finally put on my clothes.

After I put on the dress and top I notice how well they go together. I let myself feel proud for the style and then gather up my dirty clothes, deciding not to style my hair today.

Zay is walking back up the hallway when I walk out and I laugh. "You're a little eager to do your hair."

He smiles but shakes his head. "I want to do Farkle's for him. He's finally letting me because he ran out of his own hair gel stuff."

"Oh, okay." I laugh, interested what Zay gonna do with Farkle's hair. If I was allowed to do it, I'd probably spike it up in all directions. "Well you can go get the stuff now."

"Thanks." He smiles and goes into the bathroom while I continue down the hallway to the guest room. When I walk in Riley is surprisingly up, showered and dressed in a really nice dress, her hair done up in a braided crown and everything.
