Third Person.
Maya wakes up to her first alarm for the morning and turns off her other ones, feeling fully awake. She's got so much on her mind and since she's up early, she goes straight to the bathroom to shower and think.
Under the warm water she's able to open her mind up to everything that's going on. One thing is Josh and how much she enjoyed hanging out with him yesterday and seeing how much his siblings liked him.
It must have been hard for him to act so nice to them all without them really knowing who he is to her. Sure she had said he's Riley's uncle, but he's also her boyfriend and she wishes she had told them.
She felt like telling little brother and sister when they were playing but got scared but in case they told Kermit or Sarah. Even though they probably wouldn't have, she didn't want to take the risk.
One day she'll be able to tell them. One day she'll be able to tell everyone. Hopefully soon, but for now, all she can do is think about the future.
And of course, think about Josh and how handsome he is. As well as how much she wishes he were there with her now. In the shower. Or maybe that thought is too dirty for her. She's going to be seventeen next year so dirty thoughts must be allowed now.
Plus, Josh is her boyfriend so thoughts of them showering together aren't as weird as when they weren't dating. Those were definitely not welcome by her before.
But her mind is full of other thoughts too, ones that distract from imagining Josh was in the shower with her.
Thoughts about how she's going to tell Riley that she's officially getting adopted. She's not sure if Riley will scream out of happiness, excitement or jealousy that she wasn't able to come with yesterday to talk to Kermit.
Maya really hopes she's not mad at her for not texting her back yesterday.
Instead of dwelling on hopes, Maya decides to ignore the rest of her thoughts and gets out of the shower. She finishes getting ready in the bathroom, gets dressed and does her make up before making her way downstairs, leaving her hair to dry naturally today.
When she gets downstairs she's met by Shawn, alone in the kitchen making breakfast. "Morning." She greets him, taking a seat at the bench.
"Good morning, Maya." Shawn replies, a smile on his face. "Your mother is still in bed so it's just you and I this morning."
"Is she okay?" Maya asks, grabbing a grape from where they're sitting in a bowl on the bench in front of her.
Shawn looks up at her, with sympathetic eyes, "She's just tired, but you don't need to worry about her." He understands she must be so worried about her mother and he really does feel bad for her.
He worries about Katy too but if Maya gets anything from her mother, it's the strength. These blonde warriors are strong and can get through everything so he knows she's be okay.
"Did you want anything specific to eat or is this okay?" Shawn asks, seeing her watch him cooking some eggs.
She looks over the table, spotting some waffles already made, fruit cut up in bowls next to them, as well as the eggs he's cooking. "This looks good enough for me." She lets out a soft laugh. "Why'd you make so much? I would have been fine with toast."
Shawn laughs. "Of course you would. I just felt like cooking, and I know you like a good breakfast so here it is." He gestures to the bench and Maya smiles.
"Well now you've got to do this every morning, I'm already expecting it tomorrow and Wednesday and Thursday and Friday." She goes to continue but he chuckles and shakes his head.
