A/N: I'm sorry this took so long to get out and that nothing that fun even happens in it - I guess it's a sort of filler - but it would have been extremely long so I had to split this and the next chapter in half. Also it would have taken me even longer to update if I did! So hope you still find some joy in it! <3
Also fair warning, it's all over the place and there are a bunch of pictures and descriptions and idk, I just hope someone likes the chapter.
Third Person.
The week flies by for Maya, every day of school just a blur that goes right by her. On the Monday she had to sneak Josh out of the house, which wasn't as hard as she thought it would be as he went through the front door while Shawn was upstairs getting changed.
That morning had been amazing for Maya, and since the two had gone to sleep so early that night, they were able to wake up early and spend a lovely morning cuddling in bed.
When she went to school that day, she was buzzing to tell all of her friends that weren't there the day before about the adoption. She told the same story over and over again all day to anyone that would listen. Her emotions were riding high and she felt nothing could hinder them.
As the week drew to a close, Josh came over on the Thursday again, sneaking in like the week earlier. They decided to make it a thing, but agreed from now on they'd alternate between Thursday and Friday nights so at least once every couple weeks they could woke up on the weekend together.
That night was perfect for Maya, getting to spend it with her parents and then with Josh. Sleeping in his arms felt like the perfect paradise, warm and safe, and when they woke in the morning it was a nightmare, being forced to leave.
But she knew that the day would be over before she knew it and that she'd see Josh again soon. So they left each other that morning, Josh sneaking out easily again, going through the front door as Shawn went upstairs.
Maya went to school and endured the day with bright eyes, still happy from the weekend prior. Now it's the last period of the day, with ten minutes to go and Maya is sat next to Riley, watching the clock strike down.
She glances over to her best friend who's writing notes down in her notebook and Maya laughs quietly. "Why're you writing so frantically?" She asks and Riley looks up briefly before going back to her notes.
"We only have ten minutes left of class." Riley whispers back. "You should be writing notes like this too!"
Maya rolls her eyes and looks up at the teacher who is still writing on the board. "I've got someone that writes them for me."
"Who?" Riley asks, glancing up at the board and groaning when she sees all the extra notes still being written.
"You." Maya answers with a smirk. "Thanks, Riles."
Riley groans and tries to glare at the blonde, but when she looks over to her, Maya smiles sweetly and Riley can't be mad. She smiles back just as sweetly. "How did you know I was writing notes for the both of us, Peaches?"
"Ah, you know, ring power." Maya says with a laugh. Riley gasps quietly and puts out her ring to Maya.
"Thunder."
"Lightning." They put their rings together quickly before Riley continues on with the notes. Maya lounges in her seat, waiting for the bell to ring while everyone else does their note taking. The teacher doesn't seem to even notice Maya's lack of attention in her class and when the bell does finally go, she bids the class goodbye.
Maya and Riley rush out together, going to their lockers to grab their stuff. They're both as excited as the other to be spending the weekend together. Maya would have stayed home to be with Shawn since he's new at being her dad, but he's got a job opportunity this weekend and it's Riley's birthday party tomorrow, so she decided to spend the whole weekend with the brunette.
