(A/N: Okay so quick little message before you start reading, I know this is a JOSHAYA fanfic and there's hardly even been that many Joshaya chapters buuuut I'm making this realistic and I want to add fun chapters of Maya's life and all that so of course they're not going to be together all the time. But don't worry my Joshaya fans, Josh will be back soon; maybe in this chapter? You won't know until you read it, so enjoy!) - this has a lot of Texas part 3 episode stuff too btw).

Maya's POV.

It's Monday morning and I'm walking to my locker with Riley. It feels like we've been gone for ages  but at the same time it feels like we never even left.

We stop in front of our lockers, Riley saying something to me about homework but I drown her out. That is until Huckleberry appears and Riley tries to punch him.

"My brother!" She goes to punch him in the arm but he grabs her fist before she can make any contact.

"Hey! Hi! Hey Riley. You know, um, I want to thank you again, for believing in me and giving me the confidence that I would be okay."

"I will always believe in you." Riley admits, her voice sincere and caring as always. "And I will always be here."

"Thank you, Riley." He emphasizes her name a little. Then his eyes make contact with mine and he greets me. "Hi."

"Hey." I give a little head-nod and smile.

"Hey." He says to Riley now and things get awkward.

"Hi." She replies, a smile on her face as she clearly realizes what's going on.

"Wow." Lucas shakes his head and walks into our History class, his eyebrows furrowed together. Riley and I stand in the hall way, the awkward tension still there.

Then, Charlie Gardner walks over to us, greeting Riley with a smirk. A smile grows on my face and I say his name. Riley isn't impressed though because Zay apparently told Charlie about the Lucas thing.

"I heard you and Lucas are just gonna be friends." He says, his voice hopeful as I try to hold in laughter. "I heard you're free. Are you free?"

Riley doesn't answer, she probably doesn't even know how to answer him so I just do it for her. "Yes, technically she is." She whips her head back around to look at me, annoyed but slightly relieved. I decide to help her out again before she decides to murder me, and hook my arm with hers, going into class together.

We sit in our seats, placing down our stuff and talking for a bit before Mr Matthews walks in. On the blackboard he's already got written down 'Hoover Dam', ready for the lesson.

As he sets up his desk I try to wrack my brain for what a lesson about a dam can have related to our lives right now. He then stands up and talks about structure and chips, I honestly don't pay any attention to him, too busy secretly doodling in my notebook.

Then Riley gets a note passed to her and my attention changes. Mr Matthews questions her about it and my curiosity builds up as her nervous face lies to him that it's 'nothing'.

Mr Matthews tries to tell her she has to tell him what the note is but she doesn't, instead she turns around and faces Charlie Gardner. "Yes Charlie, I will go out with you."

"Hoover, Damn!" Mr Matthews says, confused but also clearly annoyed. And I am too. Well, not annoyed, but definitely confused.

In the hallway she couldn't ever answer if she was free or not and now she's said yes to going out with him. That's mixed signals to the max. For me, and for him.

I can't even pay attention in any of my classes after that start to the day, my mind wandering and eventually spinning with a headache. Riley finds me after school at my locker, which, yes, is conveniently right next to hers, and stops me from going home.
