Third Person.

Maya has been texting Scott and Stiles a lot since they met last week. They've grown closer in that time, telling each other a lot of personal things but mostly talking about school and their friends.

Riley still doesn't know about them and Maya is dreading telling her but she knows she has to. She doesn't know how to tell her though since she doesn't want her best friend thinking she's being replaced.

Lately Maya's been lying a lot to the brunette. She made up a lie about the cut on her hand, telling her the same story she told her mother; that she tripped near a construction site and cut it on some mental sticking out.

She's also lied about who she's been texting whenever they're around and one of the boys sends her a message. She's used Lucas and Farkle as cover ups, sometimes even saying it's her mother.

Riley always believes her, of course, because she would never expect the blonde to lie to her. Which is why Maya is having a hard time climbing up the fire escape to Riley's bedroom window right now. Her mind too distracted with all the lies she's told.

She gets up eventually though, and crawls through the open window ready to tell Riley everything. That is, until she sees her best friend lying in bed still with the covers up to her neck, staring at the ceiling.

When Riley sees the blonde she fakely says, "Cough, cough. Sniffle."

Maya freaks out, thinking Riley is actually sick. "No. No. You can't be sick. I don't know how to do this life thing alone." Riley tells her she thinks she has some illness that Maya realizes is made up. "You do. And what do you take for that?"

"Foo-foo medicine. And it makes you reaalllyy sleepy. Night, night, bye!" She covers her bed with the blankets, leaving Maya slightly confused.

She pretends she's on a fake phone and informs Riley, "So I'm looking up your fake disease on the fake internet..."

"Can I have a sick day, please?" Riley's muffled voice asks but Maya ignores it.

"It wants to know if you have a crushing weight on your chest. Do you have a crushing weight on your chest?"

"Yep, crushing weight. Yep, yep." Maya jumps on the bed, sitting on her best friend. "Oh, oh no, Maya, I really do. I have the foo-foos, it's like there's an elephant on my chest."

Maya furrows her eyebrows together, offended. "I'm at most a labradoodle." She pulls the blankets off of Riley as she moves to sit next to her.

"Maya, you have to get far, far away from me. I don't want you to caught this." Riley tells her, concerned.

"I know. That would be terrible." Maya says sarcastically, moving up to lie in the bed with her under the blankets.

She then rolls all over the brunette, pretending to get the 'disease' to rub off on her. This makes Riley laugh, starting to forget her fake sickness and forgetting the reason she made it up.

"Okay, can we please go to school now and get out of Rileytown?" When Riley hears this her smile drops, remembering why she's still in bed. Maya looks around, confused. "What? I just said can we get out of Rileytown?" Riley pushes her off the bed, frustrated. "What is it with you? It's just a word I made up?"

"I know what it means. It means that I'm goofy and silly and weird."

"It means you're unique!" Maya exclaims, smiling.

"I don't want to be unique." Riley tells her, a serious look on her face. "I don't want anybody to notice me."

"Since when?" Maya asks, getting more confused by the girl. "Rileytown is where you live. We even made a flag and a national anthem, remember?" Maya grabs out the flag from the cupboard, coming up smiling. She then begins singing the anthem until she notices how unenthusiastic Riley is. "Is this serious, or are we having fun?"
