Our Favorite Soda

I can only imagine
his lips must be sweet
just like Dr.Pepper
our favorite soda

the sweet soda
numbs my tongue
and i wonder 
if his kiss
would do the same
numbing my lips too

I take a sip
of Dr.Pepper
to remind me
of what we once had
sweet memories
like the sugary concoction

wanting him to be
my first kiss
and last

I still see him
bottle in hand
smile on his face

I only drink
our favorite soda
because it helps me
remember him
and think just what
that first kiss could have been
