I climbed inside the car with all intentions of driving right to Klaus and leaving this tragic town. The sun was slowly setting then my phone rang. Elena's name came across my phone. I nearly growled as I pulled the phone up to my face. "Lina, where are you?" Elena asked. "I'm in the car. I'm leaving Mystic Falls." I answered coldly. "What? No! That can wait. There's something you need to know." She panicked. "What?" I questioned curiously with a raised brow. What could be more important than her sister skipping out of her. "It's Damon," she began. "What about him?" I pressed on a hurry. "He's dying." My foot hit the brake so hard that the car lurched forward and I crashed forward before slamming back in to my seat. "Lina! What happened? Are you okay?" Elena shouted in to the phone obviously alerted to the sounds of my breaks screeching to a hault. "What happened?" I whispered still in shock. "Tyler bit him." She breathed in to the phone. "Oh my god! He tried to apologize to me today and I practically slammed the door in his face." I panicked. "Stefan said he didn't want you to know." "What! Why?" I pressed. "He said that you'd lost enough, that you were to fragile to handle this all in your new hybrid body. But I figured if you wanted to talk to him now would be the time to do it." I nodded as my eyes laced with tears. "Where is he?" "Rick's watching over him at the boarding house." She answered. "But Stefan's gone in search for a cure." "There is no cure." I stated harshly. "I know but I just wanted to give you hope." "Having hope just sets you up to fall harder." I replied before ending the call and spinning the car around. I reached the boarding house in record time and jumped out of the car. But a twig snapping behind me made me whirl around but I was met with nothing. I sighed as I turned back around but my eyes widened as Liz's and her gun swing in my direction. I felt the blow to my head and then blackness washed over me.
The deputy brought me back to the station and locked me in one of the rooms. "Where's Damon?" I questioned as soon as the door opened and Liz walked in. "What have you done to him?" "Why do you even care?" She asked. "You know what they are, what they do, they're murders." Liz accused. "I care for the same reason you haven't staked your daughter Caroline yet, because I love him. And believe it or not Liz," I mocked her name "I'm the worst type of monster out there and your messing with the one person that I would kill my own to save." I assured her in a sinister tone. Liz froze but was saved by a deputy bursting in to the room. "Damon Salvatore had been spotted entering the grill." "Wait! He's sick he's not himself." I basically pleaded as Liz started to walk towards the door. "Keep her here." She said to the man before leaving me in the room and shutting the door shut. "Damn it!" I cursed slamming my fists down in the table, cracking the wood to splinters. I remembered how Rose had gone when she'd been bitten and she was inside the boarding house for most of it. There's no telling what Damon would do out in the open surrounded by people. I gulped. This night was not going to end well. I paced the small office room for about ten seconds before a plan finally dawned on me. A sinister smirk curled up over my teeth and I purred to myself. "Exitium." I casted out. I watched with pleasure as the glass shattered from all the windows in the room. I was relieved when there was no pain following the display of magic. My tribrid form could handle my magic now. The limiting weakness of humanity was gone and there was no stopping me now. I quickly climbed up on to the window ledge and jumped. I landed on the balls of my feel with no effort at all. This body was mean for this and I was ecstatic to be able to show off a little after nearly a thousand years. I jumped inside a cop car and felt my claw grow out before I shoved it into the ignition and turned it. The car erupted with life and I stepped on the gasp petal.
I park outside the grill and walk to town plaza, where they were showing gone with the wind and started scanning the crowd for his face, trying to catch his scent, sifting through bystanders thoughts, anything to find him. I was beginning to panic until I spotted him stumbling around breathing heavily, coughing, talking to himself. He was looking at the screen, talking to air. He was hallucinating. I felt my ears perk up as I listened to him from across the crowd. "Katherine?" He said and his eyes lit up, then Jeremy walked to him. "Damon?" "Where's Alina I need to see Alina now!" Jeremy puts his hand on his shoulder to calm him. "Hey let's get you out of here first, alright?" Damon's knees buckle and Jeremy catches him, pulling him into the direction of the grill. I watched from a far as he pulled him into the building. I watch from the window, his sits him on a table and pulls out his phone. "I'm with Damon at the grill." He didn't get to finish because Liz lifted her gun pointed at Damon. Damon bolts as Liz let a bullet loose, missing Damon and hitting Jeremy directly in the chest. I watched as the phone fell from his hands and his knees buckled sending him to the floor.
