Season: Two

Episode: Nebraska

*Ryan's POV*

"Don't look. Don't look," Daryl grunted as he helped Carol up. She pushed him away and stalked off to the RV.

Beth pulled away from Jimmy's grasp and walked to the pile of dead walkers.

"Shh," Rick tried to stop her. "Wait, wait, wait." Beth pushed him away and walked to the deceased body of Annette.

"Ma..." she cried. The walker suddenly became animate and grabbed Beth's arms. Beth screamed in terror. Shane grabbed Beth around the waist and pulled her away.

I ran over and smashed my foot onto my stepmom's head. I continued doing that while cursing to myself until her head was bashed in completely.

I bent over and screamed so loud, my lungs rattled. The looks on everyone's faces scared me. They thought I was insane. I'm not... I'm not crazy.

God, the look on Daryl's face when Rick put Sophia down... he hated me. He despised me.

My vision started to go blurry. I felt my airways closing up, making it impossible to breath. My chest felt like a cage and my lungs were rabid tigers, desperate to escape. No... I hadn't had another panic attack in a year.

Maggie recognized what was happening immediately. "She's having a panic attack!" she screamed. I noticed Daryl's eyes widen. He walked over to me, cupped my face, and looked me in the eyes.

"Listen, you ain't passin' out today," he whispered. "Breathe with me, one, two, in and out."

Slowly, my vision returned to normal and my airways dilated. I collapsed onto Daryl's chest, putting all my weight on him.

"Daryl, you know if I knew Sophia was in there--" I started.

"I know. I'm sorry," he said. "Let's get you home." He started to help me up, but Maggie pulled me away.

"We've been out," Shane hissed. "We've been combing these woods looking for her and she was in there all along? You knew."

"Leave us alone!" Maggie snapped.

"Hey, Shane, just stop, man," Rick grabbed Shane's arm, but he forcefully pulled away.

"Get your hands off me," Shane exclaimed. "You knew and you kept it for us."

"I didn't know," Daddy said.

"That's bullshit. I think y'all knew."

"We didn't know!" Maggie yelled.

"Why was she there?"

"Your-- Otis put those people in the barn," Daddy explained. "Maybe he found her and put her in there before he was killed."

"You expect me to believe that?" Shane scoffed. "What do I look like? Do I look like an idiot?"

"Shane, hey, hey, hey," Rick hissed.

"I don't care what you believe!" Daddy yelled.

"Everybody just calm down!" Rick ordered.

"Get him off my land!" Daddy commanded.

"Let me tell you something," Shane advanced on Daddy.

"Hey. Don't touch him!" Maggie walked up to Shane and slapped him. "Haven't you done enough?"

"I mean it-- off my land," Daddy said. Shane muttered something. Okay, that was the last straw. I pulled an arrow from my quiver and held my bow at his head.
