Season: 3
Episode(s): Seed (maybe Sick)
It had been eight months since we lost the farm. So far, we haven't found any place to settle down in. We've just been jumping from one house to another, scrounging for food and water. Everyone has gone through lots of changes
Rick had become a harsh leader, telling us what to do with no questions asked. His relationship with Carl and Lori was very rocky.
Lori had reached the climax of her pregnancy. She looked like a tick about to pop.
Carl had matured and was an excellent shot. His hair was thick around his head.
Maggie and Glenn had blossomed into a beautiful relationship. They could not keep their hands to themselves.
Daddy got older and wasn't as mobile as he was before. He was getting better at protecting himself though.
Daryl had become more social and caring. He hunted for the group and watched out for all of us. And don't get me started on his hair, which I constantly ruffled to annoy him. In the past eight months, the two of us have really bonded. I definitely consider him my best friend.
And Carol, don't get me started on her. She's turned into a strong woman. She can pack one hell of a punch.
Today, we started by breaking into another house. T-Dog and Rick took down two walkers while Daryl and I went upstairs. Carl followed his dad shortly.
Daryl hushed me and pointed to a door. Footsteps sounded behind it. It swung open, revealing Rick. I squeaked. Daryl smirked at me in a teasing manner.
"You're about to get my fist up your ass, Dixon," I muttered.
---
We all sat in one room, eating whatever we found. Daryl found an owl, and was busy plucking the feathers off. I had managed to find a plum.
I noticed Carl crouch down and start taking the lid off some dog food. It made me feel sick, a child should not have to eat dog food in order to survive.
Rick stormed over to his son, took the can from him, and tossed it in the fireplace. Daryl actually flinched.
I laid my head on Daryl's shoulder. He tensed up, then relaxed. He was still getting used to me being in direct contact with him.
"Psst," T-Dog muttered. Through the window, a small herd of walkers approached us. We scrambled our things together and ran back to the cars. I got onto the back of Daryl's bike as we sped away to God knows where.
We parked at a back route somewhere by the woods. Carl stood guard. Maggie and T-Dog spread a map on the hood of a car.
"We got no place left to go," T-Dog pointed out.
"When this herd meets up with this one, we'll be cut off," Maggie gestures to a spot on the map. "We'll never make it south."
"What would you say?" Daryl asked. "That was about 150 head?"
"That was last week," Glenn said. "It could be twice that by now."
"This river could have delayed them," Daddy said. "If we move fast, we might have a shot to tear right through here."
"Yeah, but if this group joins with that one, they could spill out this way," T-Dog argued.
"So we're blocked," I concluded.
"Only thing to do is double back at twenty-seven and swing toward Greenville," Rick said.
"Yeah, we picked through that already," T-Dog said. "It's like we spent the winter going in circles."
