Season: Three
Episode: Seed
*Ryan's POV*
It was prison time! Rick, Glenn, Maggie, T-Dog, Daryl and I were making a run for it. We stayed in a circular formation as we took down walkers beyond the gate one by one. It was extremely important we didn't break formation.
"Get tight! Get tight!" Glenn exclaimed. Lori, Beth, the others drew the other walkers away by banging on fences.
Maggie and I were like the badass Greene twins. Nothing stood in our way. Rick led us with clean and unmerciful swipes.
T-Dog spotted a SWAT gear shield. He clearly wanted it.
"Don't break rank!" Rick yelled.
"We need that!" T-Dog insisted.
"T! T!" I yelled. He grabbed the riot shield and slammed it against a walker.
"Almost there," Rick assured us. He opened a rusty red door to the prison. He peeked around a corner to see a huge group of walkers.
"Shit," he muttered and pressed his body against the wall. We all mimicked him. Walkers dressed in SWAT gear stumbled out from behind a dumpster. Daryl shot an arrow at their helmets, only to have it bounce off.
We sprung into action. I kicked an armored walker, causing it fall on the concrete. Gaining the upper hand, I took my knife and pushed it through the beast's skull.
Daryl and Rick closed the gate, sealing the rest of the walkers in.
Maggie made an impressive kill and turned to us with crazed eyes.
"See that?" she smiled.
Soon, all the threats were dead. We started to make our way back to the group.
"Stop," Rick ordered.
"Well, it looks secure," Glenn pointed out.
"Not from the look of that courtyard over there," Daryl gestured. "And that's a civilian." Sure enough, a dead woman wearing a dress and cardigan laid on the ground.
"So the interior could be overrun with walkers from outside the prison," T-Dog concluded.
"Well, if there's walls down, what are we gonna do?" I asked. "We can't rebuild this whole place."
"We can't risk a blind spot," Rick said. "We have to push in." We found another entrance and stepped cautiously. Daryl slid open a red door, and we were inside the prison.
It was creepy. It was dark and damp, like the inside of a cave. Rick pushed a cell block gate open. I closed the red one behind us.
The commons of the cell block were riddled with blood and papers. I rubbed my arrow necklace for luck. Rick checked out a guard tower. He walked back down with some keys.
With the keys, we managed to get into a cell blocked marked "C". The cells were inhabited with dead walkers, the smell was awful. Daryl and I made our way to the second level of the cell block. Rick followed us.
Something banged against a cell. I pulled an arrow out of my quiver and readied my bow. A walker threw itself at us, only to be held back by the cell door. It's arms flailed around aimlessly.
Most of the cells on the second floor were taken by walkers. We killed them all, one by one, and threw them off the side of the railing. The others slowly trickled in.
"What do you think?" Rick asked.
"Home sweet home," Glenn muttered.
"For the time being," Rick corrected.
