Chapter 11: Being Noticed

MARINETTE'S POV

Chat Noir dropped me off. He never told me what his problem is with Ladybug. I hope he's not mad at me (as Ladybug) for coming late to that last Akuma attack when I got hurt. The first bell for school then rang. Good, I have five minutes to get to class. This is probably the first time I'll be able to walk to class. When I entered the school, I felt stares. Do I have something on my face? No, Chat Noir would have told me something...

"Marinette, over here!" I heard Alya's voice call out to me, "I love the outfit! What's with the sudden change?!" I walked towards her as we continued making our way to the classroom.

"My breakfast spilled all over me, so I just grabbed whatever I can wear...," I said embarrassed.

"It's fine it happens, but you even came early. I was just about to text you." We then walked into the classroom. Everyone was silent as we entered. Why are people staring at me? Alya and I take our seats, and people slowly began to talk.

"That was awkward," I whispered to Alya.

"It's because you look gorgeous!" Me? Gorgeous? No, I don't think so.

"Oh, hold on, I'll be right back," I told Alya. I wonder where Adrien is? Well, I should go thank Nathaniel for the ointments and bandages he got for me. I make my way towards Nathaniel.

"Hey Nathaniel," I greeted as I stood next to him.

"H-H-Hi M-Marinette," he greeted back.

"I just wanted to thank you for the ointments and bandages," I politely told him.

"Oh, I'm g-g-glad I was of some help..." Nathaniel said.

"Well, I should get to my seat," I said excusing myself.

"Wait... " I heard him say.

"Yes?"

"U-Umm y-you l-l-look v-very p-pretty in your outfit," he complimented me.

"Thank you," I said calmly, yet I felt so embarrassed. The fact that a guy told me that I'm pretty is not an everyday thing. I then walked towards my desk.

"I see the spark of a new love," Alya said.

"Stop Alya!" I said pleadingly.

The teacher then walked into the classroom. Adrien is still not here yet... After thinking that, within a minute, Adrien and Felix run in.

"We are so sorry that we're late!" They said at the same time. Everyone started to laugh.

"I will excuse you two for today since I have been notified of the late photoshoot," the teacher said. I noticed that I was accidentally staring at Adrien once we made eye contact. I averted my eyes and so did he, but then as he walked towards his seat, we both looked at each other from the corner of our eyes one last time, and he turned to face the board.

FELIX'S POV

Marinette looks different today... but a good different. I walk pass by her to get to my seat. Just walking past her made my heart skip a beat. This feeling... I haven't felt like this in a long time... the last time I felt like this was with my first love...Bridgette.

*time skip to the end of the school day

MARINETTE'S POV

The school day went by fast, and so far there was no Akuma attack. I'm making my way towards the park bench to sit and clear my mind. For the whole day, I've only been thinking of how Chat Noir mentioned that he has a problem with Ladybug... with the other me... Alya even noticed that I dozed off today.

*FLASHBACK*

"Girl, what's up with you? You have been a bit out of it since this morning. Are you worried about getting hurt from another Akuma attack?"

"No...I'm fine. It's nothing. I'm just a bit tired is all."

"Well you did come here earlier than usual so that makes sense," she chuckled.

*END OF FLASHBACK*

I am so bundled up with my feelings for Chat Noir and Adrien. It feels so wrong to have a crush on them both... but which one would I choose: the one who is a model with a great personality being kind and generous or the one who comforts me and makes the annoying yet cute puns?

"Hey, Marinette," a voice called to me as I was sitting down on the bench. I got startled and looked up.

"Hey, Felix," I responded.

"I'm sorry I startled you, I didn't mean to. I wanted to ask if you're ok, especially your shoulder." Felix is so nice. I'm glad to be one of his first friends.

"Don't worry, I'm fine. But how about you? How's the schedule going to be today? I hope you don't get overworked."

"My schedule is a bit hectic today. I have so much to do...but how do you know about it?"

"Oh, well since Adrien and you are models, and you are mostly a singer, you guys must have it tough," I explained.

"...thank you..."

"For what?" I questioned.

"Just for being you. It's barely my second day of school and you have been so considerate and friendly and just became one of my first friends...well at least I hope you see me as your friend," he said looking me straight in the eye with somewhat saddened eyes.

I don't want to just assume and ask him if he was sad, but how do I comfort him... "Of course we are friends. Hey, Felix."

"Yes?"

"Have you played any video games before?"
