MARINETTE'S POV

I hear Tikki's voice, "Wake up sleepy head! It's time for your date!" So yesterday wasn't a dream? Sir Agreste treated me the same way he treated me as Marin. My mom must have sent him my way from heaven. Thank you, mom, for finding me a guy that might actually make me happy. I spring up in joy. Yes, I'll get ready right now! I rush to my bathroom to take a shower.

"Well, good morning to you too, Marinette. I'll set your usual outfit on your bed," I hear Tikki as I get the shower running.

"Good morning, Tikki! And thank you!" I yell to her from the bathroom quickly. I hear my room door close. Hopefully, she heard me.

I quickly shower and get ready. I have a dress that's not too elegant nor too simple. t's More of an evening gown. I  walk downstairs, instead of rushing, in case one of my parents were down there. And I was right.

"You're wearing that to your date?!" My stepmother exclaimed as I made my way down the stairs.

"Yes, this should be fine for my outing today," I formally tell my stepmother.

"Your father told me that you are going out with Sir Adrien Agreste, the second most rich heir in this country."

"I am. And his status does not matter as far as I'm concerned, mother," I tell her. I emphasize my distaste for calling her mother. She's trying to drain the money from my father before his belongings pass on to me since we are related by blood, unlike her.

"Honey, please let her be. My daughter knows what she's doing," I hear my father say as he walks in.

I've always wondered how he can he just replace my mom with this horrid woman, but she somehow makes him happy.

"Of course, darling. I will be at the dining table," my stepmom told my dad politely. As my dad looked towards me, I could see my stepmom glare at me at the side of my view.

"Thank you, father."

"Your mother would be so proud of you to have found an excellent man. I really hope he makes you happy," my father told me. It's been a while since I've seen his genuine side.

"Thank you, father." I thanked him. I want to tell him how much I miss mom, and how he should have at least married a woman like her, but I don't think there's any other person like my mom.

*knock knock

Tikki immediately goes to open the door.

"Thank you," I could hear Adrien outside the door. I see him as he walks in. He has a large bouquet of flower.  "This is for you, my lady."

As he said that, I could see how shocked he seems as he says it. I'm also shocked. For some reason, it feels so familiar. When he calls me his Lady, my heart flutters, and I have the urge to tease him.

"Why thank you, Chaton," I accidentally said. Did I just call him Chaton? I just called him kitten... but why? I could see him smirk at me. And my dad is still here in the same room! Ugh!

"You look purrfect," Adrien joked. I giggled. He's going along with the fact that I just called him Kitten.

"Hello, sir Agreste. Make sure to bring my daughter back here promptly. She will decide whether or not you will be the one," my dad said. I could tell he's a bit irritated with Adrien. Usually, I'm not happy when a suitor comes, so this must be new for my dad.

"Of course, sir Dupan Cheng. Let's go, my purrincess," Adrien says to me as he held out his arm for me.

"Of course, Chaton. Bye, father!" I tell my dad goodbye as Adrien and I walk away. We start making our way to the front of my house.
