Indecisive

Chapter 17

"Glenn, I'm sorry about yesterday. You had to wait so long and you are a busy person. Zen... was explaining why he did not go to school."

He messed up my hair like patting the head of a little girl. "It's okay. Is everything alright with him? He seems quiet today."

Glenn was right, he noticed. Zen was not himself. Once he entered the class, he did not greet or talk. He never even looked at me. It was as if he was drunk when he said and did those to me yesterday.

"He's fine. He just needs some time alone." I fake smiled at him. I hope he didn't realise it.

At lunch, Zen did not follow me. I kind of expected that. Glenn saw me alone and went to accompany me instead. I can tell he was trying to cheer me up.

It's Math class. While Ms Rain was trying to explain geometric terms, her phone rang. She picked it up, I guessed it was someone important. She usually rejects the calls.

"Okay, class. I have just received a call from the principal. There will be an emergency meeting with all teachers. I have to go. Zen and Glenn, please come forward and take care of the class for me. I'll be back in a while." With that, she rushed out of the class.

Zen and Glenn. I can't imagine the both of them helping each other out. Zen's face was unreadable but Glenn was still his smiling self. They walked around the class, helping those who needed help in their Math. So I got back to my work.

Damn, I'm stuck with this question. I was already grabbing my hair in frustration. Two unknown algebra, how do I do those simultaneous equations?

"Harley, need help?" I heard two voices in unison beside me.

Oh god.

I looked up to see Zen on my left and Glenn on my right.

I laughed awkwardly. "Hi, guys."

They looked at each other and laughed. Well, that was unexpected. Friends already? "We'll both help," Glenn said.

The two of them dragged their chairs and sat beside me. They argued and laughed about the ways to solve the questions. I just looked at them in amusement. If only we can all remain as friends like this. I don't want to lose any of them. I love them both as they are.
